Probably won't be crammed, because we won't be seeing a whole lot of Venom is my guess. Someone said 10-15 minute battle royale at the end...I'd agree...if that long.

Most of the movie will be Pete's spiral into darkness, with the suit changing his personality, making him more violent etc. He will take his aggression out on Sandman, eventually when he tries to hurt MJ, he will realize the suit is corrupting him, and will realize the deafening sounds of the church bells (great ode to the comics) will force the symbiote off.

So, amongst the long story, introducing Brock, Gwen, Captain Stacy,the decent into darkness, fighting Sandman, dealing with Harry...we will then have Venom's origin. This will happen pretty late in the movie. As someone pointed out to me, in the trailer we see Venom's webbing, and a beaten, torn costumed Spidey, so they must meet and battle....but the battle most certainly will not be long.

P.S. Does Spidey's mask ALWAYS have to be completely tore up??? I know they think we always need to see the actor's eyes and expression, but sheesH!!

Matrix burly brawl=less than 8:26, actually this is more like 6 1/2 mins in total without the faff

the emperor and yoda bout was only about 3 mins long in total. which brings star wars to around 11 mins long but these are two fight scenes and shouldn't be counted as one (which is what i asked for).


so again i ask you to show me a fight scene that is 15 mins long.

I freaked out at first when I saw Dok Ock be the second villian in Spider-Man 2. The movie, however, turned out to be a gem. I loved it and not only with the first Spider-Man, it made me love him as a director.

He's been a great director all the way back to Evil Dead and yet people still doubt him. Making a movie based on Comic Book, Book, Video Game or whatever other source material is going to be hard. Face the facts that not everyone is going to be satisfied and even some are going to be downright pissed.

Its a moronic mindset sometimes when the movie is great, but people can't build themselves right past source material. If this was a true adaptation of Venom then I wouldn't want to see the movie. In fact I don't even think Venom deserves that much screen time.

Too many people are expecting this grand, long, incredibly drawn out conflict between Spider-Man and Venom, but face facts people. Venom isn't really that a complex of a character. In fact it took after Brock became Venom for writers to smooth the character out and make him more complex. Venom does not deserve a whole movie. Brock is enough of an evil personality that until the end he transforms into the very thing that was inside of him. It is brought out and Spider-Man has to stop it.

This whole movie is based around revenge.

-Revenge on Sandman for the death of Uncle Ben
-Revenge on Parker for the death of Osborne
-Revenge on Parker for whatever issues Brock has.

I think this film will be great and I am crossing my fingers that it does extreamly well. People also worry about killing of Venom because it will be too much trouble to kill off that character. How can you kill of Venom without killing the person? Brock is too much of a complex character.

I think that Venom does die, but not in the way everyone thinks. The symbiote suit actually dies off leaving Brock pondering something when Peter, I assume, says something with power and responsiblity.

Stop complaining. It's annoying.

Some good points here, but Spider-man 1 & 2 are movies that you can watch only a few hundred times before it gets boring. Batman Begins is an example of a comic movie and an overall interesting realistic movie, not compairing Spider-man to Batman, but come on they're both comic books.

That trailer really did nothing for me, and this is coming from a lifelong spidey fan. I mean........Ok, let's start with Sam Raimi obviously caving in by including Venom as a villain.

Where is he? Why was Eddie Brock in the trailer for 5 seconds? Why does Harry not wear a mask like his father and why in God's name are they MAKING SANDMAN REALLY BE BEN's KILLER!

Some of the lines from the trailer made no sense either. I think they're trying to do too much here. Why include Gwen?

I agree with you. If this movie is long and I mean long, they can pull it off. But your right, they are cramming too much into this film. I mean Venom is a villain that deserves his own movie with Spidey and having Venom share the screen with Sandman and Harry is going to be pretty crammed. I like the idea that there are multiple villains, but these characters are too big to be having to be in one movie. I could see how they could put Venom and Carnage together because there storylines kind of go with eachother. I hope this movie is long because I don't see it as being a 2 and a half hour movie. I expect at least 3 hours and 15 minutes.

I honestly dont think they are cramming if the movie is as long as the other films. Brock, sandman, and harry will have their parts intertwined. As blk spidey, pete will defeat sandman and find that power be used against him while harrys fight most likely brings pete back to the red and blue.

the reason most fight scenes don't last that long are because they get boring, no matter what is happening on screen

no one is crazy enough to do more than fifteen minutes of fighting.

I think your perception of time is quite a way off.

if you're so confident, name a single one and i'd happily use youtube to prove you wrong.

15 minutes is a long time for one fight, no matter how many parties are involved. ES{ECIALLY considering the cost in the cgi of all of the parties involved in this specific one. it's bad enough with just martial arts but with CGi involved, there's no way you'll find any of that length.

Well Just because we saw SOME of the Venom footage doesn't mean He'll be in the movie untill the very end, like when Harry found his father's Goblin stash.
I think most of the movie will be Pete fighting or dealing with the costume effects, GG and Sandman. I really think Venom will be the next film.

15 minutes is very long. i watched teh final battle between neo and smith just to check how long it was. and i was somewhere of 10 minutes. and you have to admit that it was very long.
