I noticed it on first viewing and loved it then. It showed Thanos was taking the power of the stones himself and not the gauntlet.

So i looked at how Thanos used the Gauntlet in IW and how he used different Infinity Stones in different scenarios. Here's a list:

- Used the Power Stone to torture Thor's skull.
- Used the Space Stone to get a hold of Loki before he could stab him.
- Used the Power Stone to destroy the asgardian refugee spaceship.
- Used the Space Stone to teleport himself and the Black Order out of the spaceship.
- Used the Reality Stone to alter reality on Knowhere.
- Used the Reality Stone to cut Drax and Mantis into pieces.
- Used the Reality Stone to turn shots from Star Lord's blasters into bubbles.
- Used the Space Stone to teleport him and Gamora to Vormir.
- Used the Power and Space Stone to torture Nebula.
- Used the Reality Stone to turn his dagger used by Gamora into bubbles.
- Used the Space Stone to teleport to Titan.
- Used the Reality Stone to alter reality on Titan.
- Used the Power Stone to tank and destroy a massive structure thrown at him by Iron Man.
- Used the Reality Stone to turn that structure into thousands of alien birds.

I gotta say they did some pretty inventive stuff with the Infinity Stones and the way they made use of them... made it easier to figure out what was going on, once you knew what type of stone was being used.

Yep.

Also in the theatre i saw a few of the stones being used but there where many other moments that i only saw while meticulously going through the scenes at home.

Fun fact. I went to watch the movie with some people that aren't avid MCU enthusiasts but do watch a few of the movies and when Thanos snapped his fingers some of them looked at me and asked "What happened?". They had no clue on what was going on. I had to explain it.

I guess if one pays a bit more attention on what's going on and being said you should be able to understand stuff but for some it still goes right over their head.

I hear BP's getting the Oscars push. Love BP but I say to hell with that. Brolin for best supporting actor should be the primary focus and has a real chance of winning imo! Lol. Dude really put on a perfect mo cap performance. If not, the visual effects on Thanos alone hopefully earns them some sort of recognition.

Interesting insight on the scene where Thanos is holding up his gauntlet. This video speculates that he actually already has the green gem (Time) inside the gauntlet. This means he gets it from Strange before his minions return to him with Vision's yellow one.
