A thread for the most badass, evil and terrifying villain in all the universe, played by Josh Brolin.

Discuss Thanos, his evil schemes, and unhealthy obsession with Death in here!

I love Brolin ever since No Country For Old Men, I've been a fan. I only hope he lives up to the hype. I know a bit about how insanely powerful Thanos is and some details about him and the Infinity Gauntlet, but not much else. Personally, I think the buildup to Thanos is the thing they're doing the absolute best in the continuity so far. I like that they've been keeping a light touch. Just a glance here and there with no obvious overt actions yet. Very comic book in nature. Which is kind of the point. I heard they used mo-cap, but it didn't carry through convincingly for me.

His voice is the kind that will haunt you in your sleep!

I don't believe I have seen a build up for one cinematic supervillain of this magnitude ever. That slow pan to Thanos clenching the IG and then slowly fading into the cosmos and film titles gave me chills.

So his first appearance is in Avengers (2012) and and then it goes all the way to Avengers Infinity War Pt 2 (2019). Thats a 7 year build up. Jaeasus

I think he'll have presence in Guardians of The Galaxy 2 & even Captain Marvel

He might show up in Thor: Ragnarok too, seeing how Feige said it was important for phase 3, like TWS was in phase 2. That sounds to me like something in that movie will set up Infinity War.

I don't mind the build up surrounding Thanos since I know Marvel is going to deliver something monumentally epic when it comes down to it.

And really? I didn't know that about TR, so yeah, I think it's a chance Thanos could play a role there. If it's gonna be setting up phase 3, there's going to be some big things going on, same with TWS. I'd expect no less for the God of Thunder. :D

That's why I think Thanos is gonna attack Asgard in order to retrieve Tesseract and Infinity Gauntlet from Odin's vault. He can also try to punish Loki for his last failure (just as he promised in "The Avengers", according to The Other's words).

Huge job ob Brolin's hands. Good luck bro

I have a feeling Thanos will be sprinkled about for the rest of phase 2, but have an impact in most of the phase 3 solo films - setting the stage for Infinity War Part 1. He should be the Fury of the bad guys. He should only show up to show he's pulling the strings and setting up something big.

I think/hope Brolin kills it as Thanos and turns out a career defining performance. Given his voice work in Guardians, it seems he's taking the task seriously!

I hope they include Lady Death in the mix, to give Thanos the development he needs for why he wants the power instead of just being a moustache twirling, power seeking, overlord.

If they do use Death, my pick's always been Eva Green, and with her recent performance in Penny Dreadful, and chemistry with Brolin in Sin City, I think there's no one better for the role!

Thoughts?

Eva Green's a fantastic choice for Death.

Whatever happens I'm sure Brolin is going to kill it. It's going to be fun.

You want to see him having sex with a skeleton? Not sure Marvel will go there. But what the hell, I'm in.

:hubba Oh yeah marvel bring it on...wait what?

Thanos is a great threat, even if he is in other movies, thats also building up tot 2019. Marvel does a great job with him.

I'll be disappointed if Death doesn't show up in Infinity War.

I down know about Josh Brolin and I don't really like Thanos' eyes. they just look so disinterested, not sure if that's the mad titan I've been waiting to see. Josh Brolin didn't exactly bring anything special to Thanos in Guardians Of The Galaxy, it was just a basic monotone bad guy. this guy needs to be sinister

I feel really bad saying that because I just want him to be the most badass thing of all time. but not liking his personality so far

If that skeleton happens to be Eva Green, I'm all over it. Looks like they may have to go for the hard R rating!

I can only pray that Disney's wallets are deep enough to provide this, paycheck for all, and everyone manages to schedule correctly. It. Would. Be. Amazing.

Josh Brolin is an excellent actor and had a great screen presence in GotG. I can't wait to see more of Thanos. :)
