Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Iain de Caestecker is Leo Fitz

Yes, it is sad. I was thinking hed be wheelchair bound or something but this is worse in my opinion.

This is definitely worse than just about anything else. This first episode was a great start to the season.

Poor Fitz.
Even in his head, he's friend zoned.

Although seeing as they are keeping a close eye on him it might get a bit weird if they started getting dirty in the lab.

I was really interested with what they were doing with Fitz at the start of this season as he struggles with the mental problems he suffered because of last season's events. He's not just confused, he's becoming conflicted about his relationships with his S.H.I.E.L.D. teammates, except for Simmons (who isn't even really there, except in his own mind). I'm curious how he's going to evolve as the season progresses.

Edited : Just realized not sure how much of this people would consider spoilers, so just incase...

I might be the only one, but I can't help but feel that Fitz being broken is going to lead him towards a really dark path this season, kind of like him being the Ward of season 1. All the elements are there, and it was just the first episode. He's hallucinating, he feels like his team is against him, and has no faith in him. Shown by him consistently getting angry at them for not being patient with him. (Whether true or not that's how he feels, and that's what's important) Plus other than May who volunteered to help, him the rest of them are like ya we got more important things to do sorry man. Once he realizes Simons left him, for good reasons or not, he's really going to snap mentally I believe. Or worse yet if Ward gets redeemed, the man who almost got him, and his loved one killed, before Fitz comes around, to where he just sees Ward drinking beers with the group high fiving people, like nothing ever happened, there's going to be some serious hell to pay for the team. Even if that situation is slightly hyperboled but the team still accepts Ward (which we know they will eventually) I honestly feel Fitz is really going to loose it.

If I'm right, then Fitz could do a lot more damage than Ward ever could in season 1. Fitz is still one of the top inventors, probably only second to the PLOT protected characters like Tony Stark, or Hank Pym. I don't say Banner as he works in a different field of science. Sure Ward lied to his team, freed a bunch of dangerous criminals, put dangerous weapons in Hydra's hand, who almost overthrew Shield, but if you're going to top that a super smart inventor who's pissed off at the world, and more importantly his team is a hell of a way to do it. I wouldn't be surprised if Fitz becomes a major threat once he comes around more, and feels that his team more or less abandoned him.

Well that's just my 2c anyways.

Hopefully he goes proper loopy and does some mad experiment on himself. Turning into a super villain. The team will then be conflicted in taking him down as they know he got this way trying to save Simmons and used to be a great guy and one of the team.

Then Simmons blows his brains out. Agents Of Shields version of old yeller.

If he hadn't played Fitz, De Caestecker might have made a good Molecule Man.

That's pretty much what I was thinking as well.

I love what they did with him.

Damaged goods and you just know he's going to gamble with some crazy tech down the line to try and fix himself. I hope he goes more nuts and ends up as this season's Ward. A bad guy but a bad guy the team has so much angst over!

I don't think anyone expected Mike Peterson (August Richards) to become Deathlok, and look how that turned out. Fitz could very well become someone we don't expect. Honestly, with the cast growing the way it is, Lucy Lawless added along with her crew, B.J Brit becoming a regular, and Adrianne Palicki being added down the line, I wouldn't be surprised if they decide to cut someone eventually. If Fitz does have his fall, he could very well be that guy.
I hope to god I'm wrong, Fitz is in my top 3 for characters on the show, but I wouldn't be totally shocked if it happens.

Lucy Lawless hasn't exactly been added.

I really hope we get to see Ward confronted over what he did to Fitz.I think Simmons would be the best one to have that scene, though I'm expecting it'll probably go to Skye/Coulson.

@ Dark Raven, I could be wrong but I doubt they'd bring her in for such a small part. We still know next to nothing about her, how she was brought in, what her role is going to be, and see her do anything useful. All of that will take time to tell. I'd be willing to bet she's gong to be around for a while.

Why not Fitz himself? At least that would be dramatic.

Maybe he'll have the evil monkey scratch up Ward something fierce.

This is true.I don't know that Fitz is in a place now where he could deal with Ward.

Once Ward sees Fitz, that's what will start him on the road to redemption.:woot:

Wards gone loony toons. Don't want him to have any redemption. Just turn him into a total weirdo nutjob.

My prediction is: Ward gets remorseful over what he did to Fitz upon seeing him,(we already know he tried to kill himself) Coulson needs Ward's help with the upcoming threat and goes to him.He begrudgingly lets Ward "rejoin" in a completely probationary way that leads to many a confrontation between team mates.Eventually,Ward is forced to make a choice in combat and ultimately goes out in a blaze of glory for his old team.

At least,that's what I'm hoping for.:woot:

Nah Ward escapes. He now has a total obsession for Skye. He stalks the team and saves Skye's life on one occasion. He then tries to talk Skye into letting him back into her life as he has just helped her. She refuses pointing out that he is a total nutjob and makes her sick. He then loses it and says if they can't be together in life they can be together in death and tries to kill the pair of them.
This is thwarted by the rest of the team and Ward is badly wounded but escapes. Now he is left with only hate, they all need to die especially Skye.
n steps Kraken. I can help you reach your full potential and get revenge on those that hurt you. I can make you more powerful than you ever imagined. What do you say?
Yes.

Give him some funky suit and Ward is now some big bad villain totally hell bent on destroying the team.
