Three years yeah I mis-counted. Spidey may be in S6, we don't know
If he is it will be small, but they will likely market it with an obvious connection to him

Well, what's a long time exactly?? I was under the impression that Sony needs to keep releasing Spider-Man movies every couple of years in order to retain the rights to him. Someone please correct me if I am wrong. So...unless spin-offs are counted as Spidey movies and allow for more time, I am thinking a "long time" isn't as long as you may think. That is, if the rights are to remain with Sony. And again, imo, I don't see Sony letting go of their big money machine.
Sony will be reluctant to reboot because of the spin offs, once you open up the universe it will be hard to close it and start afresh, no studio has yet to restart a universe but its questionable if they would because of all the effort put into it
They won't give the rights back to this character though, no way in hell
Actually Sony has been talking about the venom spinoff for a long time even during the raimi films with the possibility of top her reprising his role, being an anti-hero, being rated R, there was talks about josh frank directing the film, and before venom carnage carnage was rumored to be the main villain. That would depend on the nature of the spinoffs. I've seen nothing to indicate that Sony is trying to create mini franchises. There has been absolutely no talk about potential Sinister Six or Venom sequels.
With some hope they might as well be goodThat's because they don't know yet how well the spin offs will do. Don't have to be psychic to know the odds are against them.

Lets not forget that if TASM 3 flops no one will see another spidey film from Sony ever again. When they messed around with the past two films sony really screwed themselves in a corner. If um... ASM3 flops, we're not getting any Spider-Man movies for a long time. It's like... The Incredible Hulk flopped, so we're not getting a Hulk film for a while.
They certainly aren't worthy but venom is the most character expected to have a spinoff since a) he's the most popular villain in the series and b) he's had his solo adventures in the comics.Need reason to have hope first. Sony and Avi Arad are in charge so my hope is small. And I don't think Venom and the Sinister Six are worthy of their own spin off movies either.

I also think I remember when that before 2014 there were possible talks about a sinister six film and a black cat film was rumored to be in the works during the raimi films
There's no talk about potential sequels to the spinoffs. No indication that S6 II or Venom 2 could happen. That's what I mean by mini franchises. Iger called GotG Marvel's newest franchise before the sequel was announced. I don't recall anything that gave me the impression Sony sees these spinoffs in the same light.
It's so easy to abandon the universe... stop making movies set in that universe.
if they fail on the siniter six critically they're screwed. no one would see another spiderman film from them again. i heard that drew goddard has some freedom so i hope the film turns out great as well as the amazing spiderman 3
Where did you hear this and why would anyone believe it based on the last seven years?
So with a lot of people hating this movie and with the box-office getting worse and worse and losing more and more fans if asm3 and the sinister six flops do you think we will still see asm4? Will they reboot or will they even sale the rights?
It was in the first article about the announcement of a female spin-off. I figured with everything that happened hopefully there'll be done hopeWhere did you hear this and why would anyone believe it based on the last seven years?
If Goddard is given creative control to shape S6 then that franchise could have huge potential going forward. Anyone who says otherwise is kidding themselves or has no vision.
