Of saving Gwen or continue living his life with MJ. What do you think he would choose?

i say he saves gwen.....why would he not go back and save gwen?

That depends on which Peter Parker we are talking about. Are we talking about the old Peter Parker or the one we have today who would do anything bad and do anything to get out of it.

We found our answer to that with "House of M" a few years ago.

In Peter's "perfect world", Gwen was still alive and the two were together.

wasnt that just an alternate timeline in which gwen survived and not petes pefect world? excuse my ignorance if im wrong.

If Aunt May has another heart attack, despite the devil juice pumpin' thru her veins, this current version of Pete would sell Gwne's dead soul to the devil to make Aunt May live another year. :csad:

It was an alternate reality created by The Scarlet Witch that gave everyone what their hearts desired.

For Pete, this included being loved and accepted by the public, and for people like Gwen and her father being alive, and for Pete and Gwen to be married.

I never took that as "In Peter's perfect world he wanted to marry Gwen". I mean, yes that whole series got people jumping up and down and saying "See, he loved Gwen more". However, I think Peter's definition of a perfect world meant one where everyone he "tried" to protect ended up alive. I think it had more to do with "Peter wanting everyone alive" then "Peter wanting Gwen more then MJ". It's a moot point since I tend to ignore that whole storyline anyway.

Where do the gwen twins fit in during this story arc?
I'm not familiar with it.
Can someone please explain in further detail if its an alternate world altogether or like an "alternate route" in peter's life if everything had gone right.

You can ignore it all you want, it doesn't make it any less relevant.

I couldn't care less about who Peter's soulmate is, but I think HoM definitively proved that Pete's true love is and always will be Gwen. That was also touched on in (I think) Spider-Man: Blue.

Half of the "perfect" world scenarios for the characters didn't even make sense. Like I said, to me it didn't prove anything. Hell Marvel didn't even pay much attention to that story until SI rolled around. Gwen was his true love? Who's to say that she would have even accepted him being Spider-man especially with how "anti" Spider-man she was in the first place? I always thought that was the main difference between MJ and Gwen. MJ, while having problems with Peter risking his life time and time again, accepted both of his lives. I don't think Gwen ever would. I can't see how anyone could say that Peter loved "Gwen" more then MJ or wanted her more. Peter/MJ ended up getting married and growing together. This "ghost" of Gwen needs to go away. He loved her and she died. Thats it.

And to answer the topic at hand...I would like to think that Peter would prefer to live in the "here and now" then find a way for Gwen to be alive.

Also, if were to believe so highly in "house of m" happening and Gwen being his supposed "True" love...then I guess we should also take "Sins" Past into account. Gwen loved Peter so much that she ended up with Norman because of his "magnitism". Whats to say that if another older man came rolling around, Gwen wouldn't have succumb to seduction again? I like to think that Sin's past never happened cause Gwen's character would have never engaged in something like that. Point is, I ignore crappy stories that don't make sense.

Gwens "Twins" were never taken into account during House of M. House of M never effected ASM in the slightest. Supposedly Scarlet Witch gave all the heroes what they wanted. An "alternate" route of soughts.

i think the guilt he feels for gwens death would be too much for him to pass up an oppurtunity to go back and save her, but thats just my opinion.

I agree with raging demon about what House of M means.

I also would really hope the Peter wouldn't give up his life now to save somone in the past.

I mean, can any of you guys really, REALLY respect someone dating/married to someone knowing they are the second best option? That they REALLY want to be with the other person?

Just another example of piss poor relationship writing if true.

Short of making a deal with the devil (cause seriously, only a moron would do that...and yes Johnny Blaze was a moron), Pete "would" sacrifice his marriage to MJ to have Gwen live....I just can't for the best of me think of a way to set up that type of scenario without it being contrived, cheesy or out of character....hence it should/would "never" happen!

Thanks Ragingdemon and Trianglehead. =]
So 616 pete remembers this alternate life?

that must suck to no end. =/
