The Amazing Spider-Man If Venom is used again, this is how he should look!

I don't think I've actually read any of the stories he's been in, but you know what I love about him: His unique look. He doesn't look like a generic Venom or Carnage ripoff!

Agreed. I love his look. It's completely awesome.

Add in the fact that he was the first heroic symbiote character since Spider-Man got rid of his symbiote, and paralysis, it's a shame that the character was forgotten.

I prefer the animalistic Venom because it seems like more of a threat.

I understand your point of view, though I disagree with it. I prefer a more intelligent Venom since he comes across as more sadistic and cunning, and therefore a greater threat, in my opinion.

I would prefer Carnage to be the sadist.

I prefer a sadistic Venom, since he is the dark side of Spider-Man and the human mind. To me, Venom is a manifestation of the part of us that wants to kill the people we hate.

As far as what I would do with a Spider-Man film series of my own, I'm honestly not sure if I would use Carnage or not.

I like Venom as an anti-hero, not a psycho. :p

I prefer him as the anti-Spider-Man, his dark, twisted reflection. The anti-hero characterization isn't as interesting because it rings hollow as he goes on and on about "innocence". I prefer Venom to be the sadistic force of nature with a dark sense of humor he started out as.

I have a little suggestion for what I would like Venom to like...and the artwork's NOT by Todd McFarlane.
I think the right half of this face

sans drool, and with the less corrupted, more Spider-Man-like eyes of the McFarlane Venom, and I think it could make for a very good look for Venom on screen.

Is the one on the left supposed to be Flash Thompson's Venom?

Oh and I agree with everything you said, except for the eyes. I'd like it to have corrupted looking eyes, because that's what he is. A corrupt, dark version of Spider-Man.

I prefer Venom to have more Spider-Man like eyes. The corrupted, jacked-up eyes are more so Carnage's thing. And I also love the visual of black suit Spider-Man's face changing into Venom with a simple reveal of the sadistic grin.

People want Ultimate Venom? EWWWWWWW....

Ultimate venom was probably the biggest debauchery of the Ultimate line in my opinion. I love the series and own all the issues, but dang. I really didn't like how Bendis handled Brock at all.
That being said, I agree with godzilla2014 about the look of venom. That picture he posted of venom is awesome and generally what I want him to look like on the big screen.

In terms of overall changes from 616, I'd say that Carnage was changed more than Venom was.
What didn't you like about the way Bendis handled Brock?
I liked the idea of Eddie Brock being Peter's childhood friend and a scientist. I plan on using that in my own take of the Spider-Man mythos.

Yeah I agree with you that carnage was definitely the least faithful of the two, but I honestly don't care about carnage near as much as venom. In the 616 reality he's pretty one note as it is, so I didn't care that they revamped the character entirely.
Venom, while also being one note, has, in my opinion, more potential as a character and if handled right could be a formidable, memorable villain for Spidey to face. The 'ultimatized' version of the character could have been so much more.
I didn't so much mind the way they made Brock his childhood friend, that was fine by me, but I thought the whole 'cancer suit' thing was pretty stupid. What was wrong with the alien suit thing in the first place?

I agree. 616 Carnage has a lot of potential as a character, but it doesn't really ever seem to be tapped in to often enough.

I think the alien symbiote was seen as too extraterrestrial for Spider-Man. I disagree, as outer space is well within the realms that science explores.
I liked what they did to hybridize the two versions of Venom in The Spectacular Spider-Man.

I love this pic!

This image from the recent 2010 remake of The Wolfman might be a great inspiration for a live-action take on Venom's claws:

Any thoughts, suggestions, et cetera?

Take the original McFarlane-style Venom:

Add these teeth and gums:

Claws like this:

This symbol:

And use textures like this:

And you should end up with a pretty good Venom for live-action, or at least a good start.

Kind of like this, but with better teeth and bigger muscles?

Larger and/or more defined muscles, bigger teeth, a bigger head and abdomen on the spider, the classic McFarlane-style eyes, perhaps some white squares on the back of the hands, and white instead of silver, and that would be like what I'm talking about.

I think Venom should use tendril and shapeshifting weaponry, kind of like the The Spectacular Spider-Man incarnation and the alien in The Thing.
