IGN Exclusive: Frank Castle Speaks!

The first Rambo trailer and pretty much all of the TV spots featured "Bodies".

Though I will agree the style of music in that trailer you posted would be awesome for a Punisher trailer, minus the cheesy narration.

Is only one form of opinion allowed in this forum? Hmmm... I must have missed the memo.... I have yet too see a trailer to change my mind. Sure he looks like Frank Castle in the pictures but I have too see him in action to change my opinion. Not only that, but if I was an average fanboy I probably would be drooling at the prospect of Micro and the Battle-van being in the movie. If they can show a trailer that makes the Battle-van and Micro not look as stupid as it sounds, I might watch it. Until then I will spend my money on more worth while movies like Iron Man and the Dark Knight:stark:brucebat:

:applaud
I couldn't agree more. I want more than a couple pics to get me 100% behind this movie. And just because I'm not liking what I have seen so far does not make me a troll.

well this is the thing.

I never read anything near as good as these posting about the 2004 movie.

I know alot of people hate micro & the battle van. but I still don't see those 2 things for those who don't like it....... not to see the movie.
I know alot of people loved 2004 movie not me though.

but but I'll take micro & the batlle van (I really would like to see a fully equipped asault Hummer instead)
Over Bumpo & Dave and a make shift car in the first movie.

thanks AD for the post it was good just like you myspace page always up to date.

I'm just really looking forward to it because they keep saying they are following the MAX feel. Punisher MAX is my favorite comic book series, so, naturally my hype for this is really high.

yeah, those are totally comparable... the punisher isn't even a finished film yet, we've seen no footage from it, but we've seen a ton of footage from tdk and iron man, so of course you'd prefer to see them instead. you do know that the same people who wrote iron man also did punisher: warzone, right? anyway, i think it will be a very worth while film.

more than a couple of pics? how about... a smart and talented young director, a solid cast, a lead that's not only a good actor but physically looks the part, and a decent script that's better than 04...

but, you're entitled to your opinion... :woot:

The funny thing about naysayers is they usually see the movie regardless.

I agree with Kable somewhat. They could just be over hyping it like they did with the previous Punisher experiments. I was really let down by Latino Review when they got their hands on the first Punisher sequel draft and told us it would be a good film. So how do we know that in a few years time the staff on this film won't start saying why it sucked and didnt get away with so and so. But, that just puts more pressure on my end if Im wrong or not, and I will happily eat my words if this movie truly delivers the Punisher we all know and like. Yet for the most part Ive been hearing very good things about this film, and what I like the most is Lexi desire to make the visuals in the film look more like the Max comic that is the biggest selling factors for me that and they are doing a reboot. But to avoid another letdown (like the 04 movie) Im looking very deep at all the media I get on my Google alerts.

I have no hopes for this movie, but more than likely I will go see it or rent it the day it comes out. It all depends on if it get a real theatrical release, but when I see it and if it's good and I like it, I will gladly admit I was wrong.

She's pretty unproven as a director, seeing as Hooligans isn't that good of a movie, and it does have a solid cast, no arguing about that. Also, Jane did look the part, the movie was made during the Marvel Knights run and Steve Dillon was drawing him. But a decent script? I've only read one good thing about it, everything else I've read seems to indicate it's as cliched as they come.

Did Jane really look the part?
I guess that depends on which rendition of the Punisher your talking about, but I prefer the rougher looking MAX version to some Ken doll Punisher.

Well, you know the MAX book wasn't even out when they were filming the '04 movie. And going by the Steve Dillon version, he did look the part.

very true, tom jane did represent the marvel knights punisher. still, you have to agree that ray stevenson is more menacing and a better fit for the punisher, regardless of the all the different looks the punisher has had over the years.

as for lexi alexander, hooligans wasn't an epic, but it was very unique and i see that as a breath of fresh air for the punisher, especially after 04 already got the typical hollywood cliche treatment. this is going to be much darker than that, and of course there are going to be some cliches, but that's the world that the punisher comes from; guns, drugs, violence, etc. can't wait for the trailer to drop yo jaws!!! haha... well, so i hope anyway.

I don't agree with whoever said Green Street Hooligans wasn't a good film.

The movie had style along with a solid story and character development. Sure it's no Citizen Kane, but that honestly wasn't what I was looking for from that film.

He's a good fit, but I wouldn't say better. Really anyone with muscles and black hair can play Frank.

Also, The Firm & I.D. were better "hooligan movies," so unique and a breath of fresh not so much.

I can't seem to think up any cliched moments from the '04 movie. Outside of maybe a bit of dialog here or there. Though none of that can top this bit from War Zone.

Yes, it's not Citizen Cane so it shouldn't be good, I love that argument.

Ooooo I hope that Jigsaw line didn't make it into the movie. I always thought it would've been cool if Jigsaw hated people calling him Jigsaw because of it reminding him of his screwed up face, so it just becomes almost a street name for him that nobody dares say to his face.

Exactly, like some guy mentions his face looks like a jigsaw puzzle, then Russo shoots him in the face.

this is just my personal taste but some of the shootouts and pretty much hansleigh's whole directorial style are cliche. along with the stupid revenge plot with howard saint that totally butchered frank's origin. and the cuban mobsters that saint spoke with. and while i love rebecca romijn, they turned joan into a hottie, how cliche. but don't get me wrong, i do like the 04 version, but i just think this movie is going to be better.

Wow, dude are you serious? I'm pretty sure I phrased my sentence pretty properly. Read it again. And don't try to correct my spelling with bold letters without double checking it yourself. It's Citizen Kane. Not Cane. It takes you less than 5 seconds to do an imdb or google search.

It doesn't matter if this movie ends up being a heap of dog $hit, all you fkrs are going to watch this movie opening weekend!:applaud :hoboj:

If the trailer is any good I'll be seeing it. But this movie has had a lot of things going against it.

Or picking it up on the straight to DVD release rack.
