I'm Not Messing Around, I'm Doing Important Stuff in The Superhero Cinematic Civil War Thread - Part 61

So I saw that Looney Tunes movie (one that Zaslav was originally going to scrap for a tax write off) last night. While it wasn’t as funny as the classic cartoons, it had a lot of visual zaniness, beautifully animated and some gags and jokes that adults would get.

It makes you think Zaslav doesn’t have good taste. Now I wish we could see Batgirl and Coyote vs Acme.

Ya think? Lol

We need to petition Gunn to get Coyote Vs Acme out to the public one way or another
From what rumors say its amazing, would be a damn shame for it to disappear forever

I haven’t seen Cap: BNW yet. I had planned to but after the reviews, I decided to wait until it hits streaming in 15 minutes.

That said, I like Sam as Cap and I even like Mackie as an actor. He’s said some dumb, misogynistic and homophobic **** in real life that I don’t like, and I think he even made some stupid statement back in like 2016 that Trump “came from nothing” and became successful (do a Google search, dumbass), but I typically enjoy his performances. But sadly I think if the movie around him is bad, it’s hard for him (or anyone) to really stand out in a lead role. Again, I haven’t seen the film so maybe he is really terrible in it. But I’ve liked him as a lead in other stuff like Twisted Metal and that Black Mirror episode. I feel like he could have pulled off a good performance in a GOOD Cap movie.

The sad thing is, like many have stated, Disney will probably use the poor performance of this movie as “evidence” that they can’t have a hit movie with a Black lead (as if Black Panther I & II don’t ****ing exist).

I'm just mad in this digital age, no one has the balls to leak Batgirl yet.

I mean, we saw a CGI-free X-Men Origins: Wolverine movie back in the day for free, for crying out loud. :o

For real!

But Zaslav probably had all the digital copies of it destroyed so that no one can ever prove he was full of ****.

Bucky would be an equally subpar Cap.
Honestly, I can't tell if Bucky becoming a Congressman is more or less stressful than being Captain America. :o

I've seen the "Bucky should have been Cap over Sam" argument too many times since Endgame. Bucky was never officially appointed to be the new Cap in the comics. People forget or don't know that he took the mantle in the comics because Steve was killed. Years later after he was brought back to life, Steve chose Sam to be the new Captain America.

Within the context of the MCU, while Bucky was basically fully rehabilitated by the end of Endgame, Steve knew better than to burden his best friend with the pressure of being Captain America after all he'd been through. Steve's driving force in Civil War was trying to get his friend the help he needs. The last thing he'd want to do would be to put the shield in his hands and say "It's your responsibility now." He'd have rather seen him retire peacefully. Steve choosing Sam makes a lot more sense considering that was a guy who willingly jumped right in to help him and fight alongside him despite not having any superpowers other than knowing how to handle fancy flight tech. The two of them also presumably spent a lot of time on the run together between Civil War and Infinity War which only built on that trust.

I get why they're doing it weekly, but to hell with that noise, I need ALL the Born Again episodes.

Just GIVE IT TO US.

This last episode was so good. Cox and Bernthal together still have that intensity, Fisk still has his edge keeping his wife's sidepiece captive, and the black dude Matt represented bringing up Skrulls was HILARIOUS.

And it's trending and kicking ass on social media I noticed.

Fisk if he listens to We Built This City one more time

Funny coincidence, the same company that rescued The Day The Earth Blew Up (Ketchup Entertainment) is now in negotiations for an all rights agreement to Coyote vs Acme. If the deal goes through, it gets a 2026 theatrical release.

Too bad a big studio won’t pay $90M to WB to obtain, finish and release Batgirl. Too expensive for a small studio like Ketchup.

First time I saw that production company in front of a movie it was with Hypnotic... a truly unhinged and terrible Robert Rodriguez movie.

It pains my 90s child heart to know that somewhere in a digital vault is a full length movie where Michael Keaton returns suited up and back in action as Batman that will never see the light of day.

Yeah yeah i know we had The Flash but that didnt really count (even though he was great in it. )
