I'm Not Messing Around, I'm Doing Important Stuff in The Superhero Cinematic Civil War Thread - Part 61

Gonna be real. If it does that, that means it's not reviewed. And if it's not reviewed well...
Nah, if it’s not reviewed well, it goes to $100mil or below as any bad DC movie does. Just slightly higher because of the marketing. $115-135mil is the good range. Which is why people need to start getting that through their heads now. There’s no planet where a Superman movie makes $20mil more than the most-recent well-received Batman movie on opening weekend. No planet at all.

None of the bad DC movies this side of BvS has had these pre-release measurables. It's why a lot of the smart people are being bullish on this. Right now there is no real reason it should open below 150m if it reviews well. Well outside of JW4 week two. But that isn't looking super hot domestically.

Average ticket price was only $12 last year? That number doesn't sound correct to me. Feels like it should be closer to $15.

Going on Day One sales is asinine, especially when there’s a complication like the Prime screenings. That’s why we track the following days. And the following days tell the same story I have been all week: this is not a mega-opener, but a good-opener.

It varies based on where you live as the article notes. If you're in a high cost of living state or big city, tickets are more.

No, I agree. Pre-sales will be far more telling the closer we get obviously. The measurables I'm talking about aren't tied to sales at all so far.

Finished watching Hit Man for the first time. I am on the Adria Arjona train for any kind of superhero. Not sure I want her as Wonder Woman, but down for anything. In my fantasy world she'd be Mary Jane to a proper Spider-Man that's an adult, but alas that'll never happen.
The DC connection is waaaay too strong for her to be lost to Marvel. I hope! 🤞

Of the three theaters I usually go to, the majority of the tickets I can get are under $10. You would be surprised at ticket prices if you get out of major metropolitan areas.

Already been involved in a James Gunn production before so I'm just gonna keep hoping that puts her at the front of the line for Diana.

UNDER TEN DOLLARS?!

At my local theater, tickets go for $18. But I'm also in NYC.
