I'm Not Messing Around, I'm Doing Important Stuff in The Superhero Cinematic Civil War Thread - Part 61

I was today years old when I found out Smallville had the black suit.

Their Doomsday was ugly.

Well, it's a good thing Marvel likes letting go of the past, and you don't have to worry about the FoX-Men becoming their X-Men if Doomsday and Secret Wars break box office records :o

Hush.

And I sincerely hope those heartless so and sos aren’t hooking 80something Ian McKellen to harnesses for these damn Avengers movies.

How did you miss this cultural moment? :o

What if I told you Superman: Doomsday doesn’t get heralded enough?

It’s right up there with 1978. Anne Heche was a great Lois.
I’d tell you that Death of Superman is my favorite Superman film to date. The script was written by Peter Tomasi who is a top-3 writer of Superman comics.

Wait, do you think a blockbuster automatically means a film built simply for broader audience appeal? Because the first 3 Indys were two friends shooting the ****, making what they love and working out their problems with women. Hugo was again a movie that Scorsese totally wanted to make and had no audience. Hence it's box office problems.

Just being a project you want to make doesn't mean you're not trying to make something that appeals to a broad audience. Indiana Jones was an attempt at both. Lucas pitched it to Speilberg when he told him he wanted to make a Bond movie. The like....broadest appeal franchise ever. Also, Nolan was also making a Batman movie. Not some indie art house flick. He took the audience into account 10000000000%.

This is my last post on this topic, and you can look at it however you want. But I disagree with your thesis and I leave it at that. Like I said earlier, we will just have to agree to disagree

A few days late from all the music video talk but I randomly came across this video on YouTube. No idea who the band but it feels like they were obsessed with movie tie-in videos lol.

I'm hoping the rumors that Gunn toned down his adult humor for Superman is true. 😭
