Not really sure how Art Deco etc would translate into live action for a Batman film overall.

It would easily fit if blimps were part of some sort of event such as the anniversary of Gotham. Similar to how blimps are used for NFL games. In a more modern take, blimps would be replaced with drones.

Funny James Gunn is now calling his Superman stories “Superman Saga” . I wonder where he got that from lol

I would love that, but it seems like the closest we'll get to it will be the helicopters that appear in the first film and in The Penguin.View attachment 144879
that video with all the cut establishing gotham shots from Penguin is insane. they looked incredible. the fact that TB II is gonna have even better ones makes me giddy.

I never realized how much I miss the Gotham PD blimps. I love the anachronisms in BTAS.
Yeah, my mental image of Gotham-City was shaped by Burton's movies and BTAS, so I also tend to prefer it being portrayed, visually speaking, as a fantasy place rather than a copy of our modern big cities.

That's one of the things I find very compelling about The Batman. Despite the discussions about the supposed realism of that take, its Gotham feels to me like an eternally moody city, caught between different eras, with some old architecture, sometimes Gothic or industrial, modern technology here, and gangsters in pinstripe suits there, etc. There's a larger-than-life/otherworldly quality to it.

I remember that interview from a couple years ago where Gunn said he wanted to approach the DC universe as a set of well-defined places, each with their own unique characteristics. I like that, and after seeing how he approached certain locations in his Superman, I'm hopeful that we'll see yet another stylized Gotham.

The blimps are coming...:fingerscrossed:

Was thinking of Azrael the other day and he's probably a bit far for any film but the sword is so cool, could be adapted for Deacon Blackfire.

Sneider is saying that people doing interviews for the movie "Caught Stealing" were instructed not to ask Zoe Kravitz about Batman II because apparently "She's not in the movie and doesn't know anything."

I don't give a **** about Sneider, but I've been convinced for a while that Selina isn't in this movie, so it genuinely wouldn't be a surprise to me.

Given the role she had in the first one (and her sending that letter to Sofia in Arkham in The Penguin), I would be very surprised if she wasn't in it. Seems like she's a very pivotal character to this universe.

I would now bet money she is in it.

I mean based on how the first movie ends/her character making the choice to leave gotham, i always assumed she would sit part II out or at most make an appearance towards the end of the movie. I’m still hoping she’s part of it in some way but i’m not expecting her to have a big role again until part III. I guess we’ll see

As Scorpio said, given the way the first movie ended, this isn't really a surprise.

It would be an excellent opportunity to have an HBO show about what brings her back to gotham after the batman part II.

So Josh Brolin said that Fraser will do the Beatles movies with Sam Mendes which will take 2 years and that's why he couldn't return to Dune

We can't be attached to a cinematographer... If Fraser wants to do something else, I'm sure Reeves will find a suitable replacement.

Time for the classic Batman sequel total visual revamp! If they can’t get Fraser they shouldn’t even try to continue his style. Would have been ideal to get him back but this could be fresh and exciting.

I'm optimistic because I love Reeves & I'm sure he'd choose a great cinematographer....but I would still be mourning the loss of Fraser. Absolutely loved the aesthetic of the first film.
