I'm Reading Your Stuff: General News and Discussion Thread

I mean, didn't Frank already do that himself? That said, she definitely would've been sexually assaulted.
I haven't read any of the DKR sequels, but yeah, I think they had that. Maybe I give DKR era Miller too much credit, but I didn't get that vibe from her original appearance.

No CoO, please K thanks bye.

I can't see Matt Reeves having an 8 to 10 year old running around in a superhero costume alongside Batman.

I doubt he does. But I can see a scene, like Dark Victory, where he's pressed into action and he has no costume or a makeshift one.

I just think if we see Dick Grayson in this movie, he is likely going to be closer to a teenager rather then a little boy. This is especially if they keep the circus acrobat story.

I would like to see Batman working on a smaller-scale investigation, but I'm not sure that's the direction Reeves will take. I feel like he has often emphasized exploring the corruption of Gotham as a whole, and I imagine the first film is just the introduction.
I think a lot of the sequel will indeed revolve around Bruce trying to do more for his city without his mask, as suggested by Bella Reál, who I also anticipate will have a certain presence. Oz's thirst for power will certainly collide with all of this, and I can imagine a Harvey Dent getting caught in the middle and paying the price (and therefore possibly a young Grayson...).

Now, all this is missing a central villain...
I wouldn't be surprised to see Hush because even though he has been diluted (or rather augmented...
:o
)
in this version of the Riddler, Reeves has mentioned him several times. On the other hand, Dano and Pattinson were way too geeky about the Court of Owls in that one interview for whatever media it was, haha.
More seriously, I expect it to be a character who links Bruce, those fighting to save Gotham, and those who want to take it over. Whether they work for one side or the other, their actions must continue to upset the balance of the city and cause all the players to confront each other.

And even though I don't have any particular preference or wishes for that villain, in any case, I feel like Oz should be the "puppet master".

Great point. You know what, that makes a ton of sense. Scratch what I said about the Court. Makes a lot more sense for Penguin to be the main antagonist after how they built him up with his series. I would love for them to introduce Rupert Thorne as well. Basically, let Penguin's councilman buddy from the series be his go between with the corrupt old guard on council led by Thorne.

If the Bat-Signal lighting up at the end of the Penguin series is the result of the Graysons being killed at whatever charity event Oz just came from and he was behind it, it would complete sense why Oz is so unfussed about it all.
I may have already posted this in the series thread, but like said, I would really like Oz to be, throughout this saga, the itch Batman can't scratch.
Even though we have a villain who confronts Batman more directly, I like the idea that Oz is the guy who's constantly shaking things up behind the scenes, gaining a little more ground at each stage, just like in the series.
I would even find it interesting if Batman could never stop him once he occupies too high a position in the city's power hierarchy...

Also, the fact that he might be responsible for the Graysons' deaths is quite expected to me and, honestly, ideal.

Yeah, I'm really against The Court in part because it just feels dumb and QAnon-y today. There's a way to do it, probably, but it just doesn't do it for me. The relative mundanity of the conspiracy in The Batman really works for me, I like that it's just scumbags embezzling charity money.
I've said this a few times here and on Discord but I really do like my own idea to make The Court one of Gotham's founding fathers that has since died out/dissipated. A super cool, glorified lore detail, basically.

James Gunn tweeting that the Court isn't in the film incoming. :o
