I'm gonna stop answering about when things happen or what happens from this point forward, because I don't want to start being one of those "I saw it, ask me questions!" people. I just wanted to say that this information did not sound true.
As for enjoyment of the movie: yes, we enjoyed it. To be perfectly honest, though, I feel my enjoyment was lessened by the amount of footage I saw in tv spots and clips. I wish I had seen less, but people who have not watched all of those clips will be even more impressed than I was (Matt saw less footage than me pre-viewing, and I think it did make an impact). I think watching so much footage beforehand makes those moments less exciting in the final film because they're not "new". In addition, this was not your average "walk into your local cinema" experience, because we've been travelling for a good amount of time and the whole Cannes thing has been overwhelming - and it's made seeing the film a bit surreal.
Quick comments - some sequences blew me away. I'll elaborate in the review that goes up on the site, as best I can without spoiling things. And there was a sequence in particular that we partially saw in the trailers that has changed somewhat and made my jaw drop. It was that cool.
I have tickets booked for the full opening on Friday, and I'm psyched to see it in more of a "natural" movie-going environment without the press.
