I could have sworn I read once that Stern would be writing the non-wedding story. In which case, #600 wouldn't be it since it's being written by Slott.

MJ and Doc Ock returning for 600 is a big deal, so if you wanted to sell lots of issues, a smart idea would be to take MJ out for a while and then bring her back into the scene on the big issue.

Christ... even after her initial heavy five year character run in ASM after Gwen's death, she then disappears from the book for another five years afterwards... the book we are all reading is not called "The Amazing Mary Jane"... she's an intergral part of Peter's supporting cast, a very important one, but even the important characters can be off the book from time to time, and we all know she'll be back.. we've already seen her once in a few issues in 2008, and she'll play a role in the upcoming Models Inc. mini series this spring (which will also feature Peter Parker, so that'll be interesting), so it's not like she was "written off", like you said, but after a long haul of being in the books constantly, it's time to focus on the REAL star of the book, that being Peter Parker, and all the main supporting cast members, along with some new ones, will play their way into the stories when it's deserving.

I'll be picking up #600. I mean, c'mon, it's #600! I'm even pickin' up Thor #600 and I dropped that months ago.

I just hope they dont blow it, the last centennial issue (#500) was kind of a letdown in my opinion.

I'm definately picking this issue up, if only for Doc Ock's appearance. I'm sure Slott will deliver a great story for this milestone issue.

Actually it wasn't the hand that revived ock. What had happened was the new rose (I loved that guy) was getting competition from the new Black Trantula, so he decided to recruit some big guns. First he gave electro the money and equiptment to let him upgrade his abilities (electro's smarter than what most people give him credit for) but he kinda goes psycho, completely kicks X-Man's ass and pete barely takes him down. So next on the list they get ocks body and actually use the BT's own mystic cult, an argetinian version of the hand to revive him and wackiness ensues. Those were some pretty good stories and issues actually.

As for MJ, I'm pretty sure they stated she was coming back to the book reguarly soon. The reason she was off the book was so people no the marriage is not coming back.

Its not bad writing, its actually a smart idea to give MJ this time off.

Cause everyone other than talking about the new status quo, has been asking, WHERE IS MJ? And giving us teases of her here and there, are just nice ways of wetting our appitite before the big 6-0-0.

Cause if we saw MJ every single issue before the 600, then, we get bored of her by then, and its not a big deal to see her return, like it is now.

Ock’s back in #600 with a new look to say the very least.

Can I Mention it’s by Slott and John Jr? There’s also a ton more going on that issue with more surprises to announce later. I’d love to get this comic to be as big as humanly possible.

That.is.AMAZING. news! Marvel is slowly winning me back with BND: dans slott, JRJR,Doc Ock, this should be a great issue. I hope they dont blow it.
