Enough about that a**hole. This is the Ledgerbration thread.
Agreed.

Let's celebrate the life and achievements of a true legend.

The closer we get to the release of this movie, the more we will hear about Heath, so I doubt it's going away soon. Just gotta deal.

Even though we never met while you inhabited this Frequency,I felt an unspoken kind of Friendship would've Materialized had we crossed paths. We found ourselves through your Honest, Passionate body of work you left behind in our psyche...the obliteration of Self-Importance you displayed in the commitment to your Art was/is rarely seen among our GEN(e)ration...much LOVE and RESPECT.

THANK YOU 4 EVERYTHING

Why so, Sirius?
Why so...

They didn't. Jack meant he made a general warning about the dangers of taking combinations of sleeping pills/medication.

He'd been there himself. Nearly had a car accident, I believe.

Thanks for pointing that out. Make sense on what he mean & why he mention it. I didn't know he been through the same thing too.

QFT. :up::up:

This is Heath related, but not 'Heath Joker' related.....

Has anyone seen "I'm not there?"

Ledger is pretty awesome in it....so is Bale. It's totally bizzare, but it's an awesome and relatively accurate Dylan Biopic.

It's sad to see someone so dedicated to a role and pass away, but he left his soul to The Joker. Think about it we all love the new Joker and want his costume and his clown possies. He made us all know Joker will live forever. I can't even stop saying the lines of Joker and so excited for the movie. He was a very talented actor, very gifted. He will always be remembered and never forgotten. R.I.P. Heath Andrew Ledger, Your fans and family will love you and always has a place in their heart for you to stay.:hoboj::heart:

Jesus Christ. THAT's how Jack Nicholson found out. Wow.

Anyone seen this article? Damnit, that just makes me mad. I don't get angry at articles, but that guy is just a *****e.

"I wondered if he was going to be somebody who would inhabit the character at all times. But he didn't at all. He was really amazing in that he could turn it on and then switch it off between takes."
-Emma Thomas

"Yeah, it's the most fun I've had playing a role. I'm really surprised Chris knew that I could do it, or thought that I had something in me like this. And I don't know how he came to cast me to do it. But yeah, it is the bomb. It's it's definitely the most fun I've had in the most freedom I had and the work schedule is great. I work two days and have three weeks off. It's been like that for six months."
-Heath Ledger

Yeah, because that sounds like a man so haunted by the role, right? Surely his death had nothing to do with anxieties about not seeing his daughter, or the fact that he had the flu and was taking multiple medications. No, he died because of the Joker.
I decided to let my voice be heard, so I sent him this: (by the way, his email address is [email protected], I suggest you drop him a line)

Mr. Porter,

In your article entitled "Christian Doesn't Think Heath's Death Was Joker-Related", not only did you insult a man who suffered an untimely death, but you displayed absolutely no journalistic ability whatsoever. The entire article was speculative in nature, and was extremely biased. You should be ashamed of yourself for stooping to such a low level as to attempt to get attention from someone else's death. Journalists like yourself are disgusting, and the fact that someone has even employed you is a complete joke. Not only did you skew quotes to make a "point" and I use that term liberally, but you called Christian Bale a "noted weirdo" and used the fact that he lost weight for a role to support your "claim". Heath himself was quoted in an interview as saying, "Yeah, it's the most fun I've had playing a role. I'm really surprised Chris knew that I could do it, or thought that I had something in me like this. And I don't know how he came to cast me to do it. But yeah, it is the bomb. It's definitely the most fun I've had and the most freedom I had and the work schedule is great. I work two days and have three weeks off. It's been like that for six months." Far from the gossip that you spewed in your article, and these words came from the man himself. I just thought I'd give you a reality check, and show you how disgusting and false your words were.

As excited as I am to see Heath in the film, after checking up on the Reviews page and seeing the link to the New York Post I am filled with apprehension as well, for this:

http://blogs.nypost.com/movies/archives/2008/06/oscar_watch_fir.html

"The Post's ..... reports that Ledger is getting the "E! True Hollywood Story'' treatment next week and as the movie's premiere draws closer, "Ledger's early death promises to be a prime topic of morning talk shows and evening news magazines for weeks to come.'' "

Oh for crying out loud. I guess Bale's hope that Heath's work in the film will be the only thing about him discussed from here on out is flushed down the toilet.

I'm just disgusted and saddened. He got trashed by the tabloids for weeks after he passed away---but no, there's still money to be made capitalizing on his leaving us, I guess. I'd hoped to be able to enjoy the film coming out and the accolades but...sigh.

Sometimes I despair of humanity. Maybe the Joker is on to something.
