Someone took the jelly out of his doughnut ^
I think it does a disservice to the character to boil him down to having a bad childhood. Isn't that a little cliche?
In my mind he's simply nuts, never was normal. And the scars are definitely self inflicted.
WTF!!!! The JOKER is a liar. Plain and simple. The JOKER wants you to feel sorry for him before he does something nasty to you. You obviously dont understand the JOKER!!!!
Madness, as you know, is like gravity all you need is a little push but thats what the JOKER wants you to think. Alot of people are alot stonger than that! What happened to Harvey wasn't just alittle push. His GIRL ****ing DIED and his FACE WAS BURNED HALF OFF.
I never even dreamed that something bad happened to the JOKER to make him be that way. HE's just that ****ed up and sick and twisted of a person to to do things like that.I believe that he did those scares himself. He's just making excuses to why he's like that. Oh it's not my fault my Daddy abused me and he cut a smile into my face or my wife left me because of gambling so I cut a smile into my face to show her the funny side. Bull****! He's ****ing nuts but he high intelligent but in some control but the JOKER is just a persona and the cuts are to throw people off to make them think this guy is 100% insane.
Cliche Internet Ranting aside.
I fully agree with our fellow poster, I think this Joker was so freaking smart and cunning, that he planned everything, even how to mess with peoples perception of him, like the scars, he knew they (cops, Batman, Dent) would try to see them a mark of a tragic event, thus manipulating them into other events in the future until Batman figures it out that he's just messing with everyone, and it's useless to confront him by the psychological side, being that he always has the advantage due to his none explainable behavior.
I know parts of the movie may be seen as real emotion outbursts by the Joker, but, maybe it's just how he thinks the present attitude he's taking would react, being that he acts always, sometimes as childhood abused, love tragedy, or just someone who doesn't want to be alone, but this are just temporary mediums to chaos, meaningless masks, I think we would've seen a very different Joker if there were a sequel with Heath, by different I mean expanded, with a really broad spectrum of personalities. But that's just me![]()
I don't think the scarring was self-inflicted.
I prefer the Batman '89-style origin, where he was already a sadistic, unstable bastard of a criminal who perhaps stepped on the wrong toes. Screwed over the wrong gangbanger, probably, and got his face carved as a result. Left for dead, he resurfaces sometime later as the Joker.
Not in any way sympathetic, but very fitting of the character.
Ditto.In my mind, I don't know, I'll never know, I'm not supposed to know...and ultimately, I don't really care.
Good point, I agree and it also makes meGood post mrbrownie. I agree, i think a lot more was going to come from Joker if Heath was still alive. I don't know about anyone else but i still see TDK as an introduction to Joker, his story isn't finished yet. But obviously Heaths unfortunate death has changed that![]()
I know. But B'89, despite focusing too much on Jack, was actually a very good origin. It probably makes more sense than any other origin. The only problem with it is that he was already a well-known criminal, so his identiy is not a mystery.But... that's IS (basically) Batman '89![]()
