Both movies were slow and misguided.

Supes was good but didnt really do it for me. There was soemthing missing from it that I ant quite put my finger on. The original supes movie was much better. I still dont understand how he lifted up the continent that was filled with kryptonite. Makes no sense to me.
The Hulk is a great character driven movie. I thought it was a little slow but for good reasoning. The movie really fleshed banner out. I really hope the movie isnt remade. I would like to see the story continued.

Hulk better than Superman Returns? Without a doubt.

Hell even the 3rd x-men movie is some what better i think. I don't know why singer did what he did to superman. He made it all boring and the child plot just didn't work.
Why singer?!
i think that both films are actually quite similar and i'm expecting people who lliked the hulk to also be fans (or at least share a similar opinion) about superman.Galactical said:Hulk is better than Returns though both suffer similar faults (taking themselves too seriously and pretending to be deep when theyre essentially not).
they're also pulling in similar box office, but don't tell that to the smug SR fans pre-conditioned themselves to love REturns no matter how sloppy Singer put the film together.
I'm a little unhappy with how unfairly hulk is viewed as a bad film but Returns gets placed alongside 'classic' status right away by its most zealous supporters because it's superman, and that's all. Both are flawed and are doing rather suckage at the box office. This is the truth. I'd say Hulk works as a film much better than Returns though.

what you see as faults i tend to see as their strengths in taking the seriousness of the characters and worlds they are both placed in rather than making it light and quite care free and typical 'hero kills baddie' type films.
November Rain said:well they both stay off showing the glamourous side of being a superhero, while one movie sees the character as a threat, the other sees it as a saviour.
two sides of the same coin but they both deal with what i would like to think of as realistic threats to humanity as well as paying more attention to the effects of having a certain abilitiy has the people you care about etc.
spidey delves into this but it's focussed around love far too much, so much so that it actually affects the powers which i feel is going down the wrong path.
