INSIDE THE POSTER'S STUDIO
SEASON II: Byrdfall

Hello, and welcome to another thrillingly dull edition of Inside The Poster's Studio. Taking over for byrd_man, who's on sick leave for a rabid case of genital warts and fungus, will be, Master Bruce, the scourge of and most hated poster in the RPG forums. His first, and more than likely his last guest, will be... byrd_man. We bring you to the interview now in progress.

Now, byrd, I know you're rather new to this whole interview shtick, so I'll try to speak slow for you.

OMG, JRK just dropped Batman!

...What?! Where?! You lying son of a... anyway. Let's start things off. You've acquired a reputation for, similarly to SuperFerret, picking up characters for a limited time. So tell me... what prompts this? Do some characters just fit better than others, or is it a scheduling issue?

Well, the fact that I'm an impulsive bastard has alot to do with it. Honestly, I get an idea for a character or an arc and in my head I'm like "Yes! Oh god yes! This will be awesome!!!" So, I go to pick up the character and...I just lose steam. Or, I might lose interest in a certain character or I'm just not having fun with him. Like I said. I'm a bit on the impulsive side.

Certainly so. Perhaps that's a factor behind your rather noticeable pattern to Bart Allen, aka Kid Flash. What else makes that character click, more than most?

Well, Bart is a character I've really enjoyed reading about. His journey from Impulse to Flash was an incredible journey in which he accepted his place in the Flash legacy and made forged his own place in that legacy. Shame he died.

Indeed, it was a shame. *Wally'll always be Flash, though...*

Over Bart's dead body!.....oh wait...

On the subject of DC characters, you've taken quite a big step in the DC RPG by making Oliver Queen, the biggest liberal bastard in the entire DCU, make a run for the White House. What sparked the decision behind this? And how the hell has he not gotten his balls ripped off by Dinah, yet?

Heh. Well, It all started when I was watching something on T.V. about the Clinton presidency and all the controversy. That's when it struck me. "Ollie as president....jesus christ, he'd make Clinton and JFK look like priests." Plus, Ollie's view on things would make for some good political stories and a good way to tackle political issues in the DC universe as well as real life issues.

Real life issues being that of boozing with the VP, and sexing up multiple interns, I assume.

Well, duh

Let's switch away from DC, for a moment, as awesome as it is. You've also done your fair share of Marvel work, in the past. Is there a particular character under that company that you identify with? You're always knocking Spidey, so I'm interested in this...

I don't knock spidey, he's a great character with a rich history. I just don't drool over him like everybody else...present company included. Hmm...if I could relate to one marvel character It'd have to be Luke Cage. Even though he's from the ghetto, at his heart he's a blue collar guy. I mean, he could save the world that afternoon and you could sit down and have beer with him that night.

Drool? How dare you. I mildly stare in awe of his awesomeness.

Whatever helps you sleep at night...

Now, onto some of the base questions you've made famous, or infamous, in ITPS tradition. Which characters have you enjoyed playing the most? Yes, of all the thousands you have under your your belt...

Hundreds of thousands...damn. That is a hard question. I guess it'd have to be Barry Allen in OU. I'm already a Flash fan, and I get to play the greatest Flash of them all. Plus, I have fun with the fact that's while he's carefree, the death of Professor Zoom still lingers in the back of his mind at all times. I would say he's a semi-tortured soul.

Huh. Not who I would've guessed. That's cool. Now, which storyline did you enjoy participating in the most? Be advised that you are under oath.

Back up, who did you think I would have said?

I don't really think it's appropriate to discuss that...

Answer the question!

...Fine. Howard The Duck. Are you happy?!

I... never played him.

...You sure? I thought you did in Ultimate Marvel.

I put up an app, I never got around to doing a post.

Well, this is just flat out embarrassing.

Anyway, what was your last question?

I think it had something to do with lollipops and unicorns...

Gay...

Which storyline did you enjoy participating in the most?

Ahh, hmm... another toughie. Tie. The Zod fight in OU and the Flaky Four in Marvel. The Zod fight was really my first time in an arc with multiple characters and I loved every minute of it. From Luke Cage ducking it out with Zod on the White House lawn and being thrown through the Lincoln Memorial, to saving Superman. To Green Arrow interacting with Jay Garrick and laying the smack down on Zod with Nitro arrows. Love every second of it. Then, the Flaky Four was another one that started off strangely. I seen UK and Spidey9X17 were doing an arc and I asked if I could join. It took off from there. To Deadpool disguising as Batman and Johnny being hit on by triplets. To Luke and Falcon pretending to be terrorist and avoiding secret service agents on the White House lawn. It was off the top of our heads, and one of my most memorable times RPing.
.
..Saving Superman? That's not how I remember... Oh, wait. Interview mode. Sorry. What posters have you enjoyed working with most? Be honest, be truthful... and more importantly, chew out some people.

Wow. Now, I have RPed with some of the best. Off the top of my head, you, SuperFerret, twy, Electro UK, JB, Spidey9X17, my Ultimate Thunderbolts homies, Feature, Mr. Marko, and Noon. GL as well as Supergirl (Wink, wink) Venom 160 oh. Spike from what little we've done. But, one of them stands above the rest in my mind. Wiegeabo, he's my favorite RPer to work with... whether it's as Barry Allen and Captain America's friend Jay Garrick, to Bart Allen's father figure. Wieg brings alot of the table as an RPGer and I think our lack of communication helps. We just react in character.

Indeed, wieg is a hell of an RPGer. One of the best. (Man, this is starting to seem gay...)

Gay happy or gay GL?

GL, unfortunately.

Let's move on.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Now, which character do you want to play the most? I already know the answer, but be specific. List more than one if you can.

Now that is a hard one... I say it'll be a three-way tie. I'd say Batman for sure, I mean he's the character I've grown up on and I've read and watched for over 20 years. Although, I found him intimidating at first, I believe I would be ready to play him if the opportunity opened up. Second would be Rorschach, he was my favorite character from Watchman and I find myself talking like him from time to time. He's point of view and psyche is too good to pass up. Third would be The Gunslinger from Stephen King's The Dark Tower books. Roland is a cowboy bad ass plain and simple, he's like Aragorn and Sir Lancelot had a son with Clint Eastwood.

Hurm. Byrd_man. Possible Homosexual? Must investigate further...

Hurm... MB. Possible ***hole?...

Sorry, sorry. I had to. I just couldn't resist. Now, with the new RPG approval forum in full usage, you've taken part in quite a few, whether they be in GMing duties, or as a player. Which one, made or not, would you want to succeed? And no, you can't say DC: 1887.

Well, I wouldn't mind seeing a new Multiversers, but one idea I wouldn't mind seeing would be a superhero RPG set in the Star Wars universe. Bruce Fett, Darth Slade, Emperor Savage, Obi-Wan Allen, Hal Solo... just imagine.

That idea sounds familiar...

I bet.

Okay, I'm about done bastardizing the fine work you and SF have put into this. But before we call this interview to a close... what lies ahead for the bogus byrd_man? Any news you can share with us, regarding any of your characters?

Well, in DC. You can expect Bart to keep on being the same old Bart, and a wedding lies on the horizon for him. For Ollie, the Luthor debate isn't too far ahead, plus maybe someone will try to take his life. He'll develop his relationship with Dinah to a interesting new level. All I'm gonna say about that. Ult. DC, Bart will become Kid Flash and the Titans will be together. Plus, Deathstroke will go a hunting. Not too much to say for Marvel, but Ult. Marvel. The Thunderbolts head west and Wolverine will be involved in a life changing event for two characters. OU, Supes will be Supes and Barry will face a life crisis. Oh, and in CAH Blue Blur will be the same old blue and just as Blurry.

Alrighty, that does it for me. Now, I'll just be collecting my pay, and...

You forgot one question.

I did? Oh, right. I deny the question to you!

NO!

...But for kicks, anything you'd like to say to the folks at home?

Yes, don't be a fool, wrap your tool. Oh, peace out you punk *****es.

Note: this episode was filler. I had to chose someone to interview within 24 hours and I picked the best possible candidate...myself. Egotistical ain't it? Anyway, expect a action filled ep next week as I interview MST3K

I now find myself a little gay for MB and byrd.

Thanks a lot guys.

You two should NEVER be allowed to talk to each other again.

This is all pretty gay guys...... I'm surprised Lord Doom isn't here.

This is all pretty gay... I'm surprised Lord Doom isn't here.

Just one rule:

No kissing on the mouth.

You know, my friends and I, while making fun of each other during the day, decided that the only way it can ever "NOT" be gay is if the head doesn't go in.

...

Moving on...

Just so you know, you're not on my list.

Is it the list where you kill and sodomi...oh, wait, nah, that can't be it. :ninja:
