We need to be able to SEE the action this time around. The first scene where he takes out Falcone's thugs was understandable, but there really was no excuse for the rest of the fights.

What do guys mean by intense fights? Do you mean like Batman doing more skillful fighting like Bruce Lee Style or acrobatic fighting like spiderman?

I would love to see batman with more agility...

Free runner type of agility.. his fights can stay as they are..as long as we can see what's happening this time.

Free runner type of agility..

I think Casino Royale kinda proved free running is just a fancy way of getting around. It has no value in fighting or capturing criminals, so why bother with it?

cause batman should be able to navigate the rooftops like that.. his fighting style is great..its just the editing of that fight.

Because Batman would no doubt endeavour to persue someone who fled accross roof tops.

I loved the free running sequence in Casino Royale, but if TDK's was accross Gotham's skyline rather than over some construction equipment, it would be all the more absorbing.

The point of CR's foot chase was to show Bond's true ingenuity and how he thinks on his feet, under pressure. He was persuing someone obviously more well-versed and skilled in the art of escaping, but Bond saw the options the free-runner didn't see. The corners that he could cut to make less distance between him and his target. The free-runner had the physical skill that it'd take to escape, but not the mental prowess. Batman has both.

I wonder whats the so secret scene for which bale is training so much like he said in an interview. Something obviously very physical without a doubt. A foot chase it would be great and I think it could be the perfect chance to introduce and showcase(flexibility) the new suit and why its needed. i mean i don't imagine batman running full speed with the begins suit unless is shot under heavy shadows when we see him running.

A cool pursuit across the rooftops of Gotham would be very cool indeed.

Serious. This is something thats essential to a Batman movie.
Batman Returns had the rooftop fight btwn Bats and Catwoman.
They should have a scene thats even better in the next movies.

If you said Robin should navigate rooftops like that, then I would agree with you. Robin, after all, is young and a former acrobat. He could do it.

Batman is more like James Bond with that. He's older and not as super spry, but he has the ingenuity to limit the distance between him and his quarry and predict where he/she is going to go. Heck, Batman, on his nightly patrols, probably memorized "quick routes" in Gotham.

Add into that his gilder and grapple gun, you have a pursuer that has a distinct advantage over any "free runner".

Free running should be reserved for Catwoman, it suits her better and will differentiate her skills. Batman should just *appear* in the shadows, screw chases. If anything just show a fleeting black shape.

Bats should be able to do both. The Joker is generally portrayed as rather quick and nimble, and it would be fantastic to see him fleeing accross the rooftops as Batman half-runs and half-glides behind him, as in Crouching Tiger's robbery scene.

Well I would love to see bats move as in the comics but really with the suit and the realism angle its dificult. In the comics(depending on the writter) he moves almost like an acrobat I mean he's a ninja, but to make him move like that would need cg and that would just kill it.

Maybe with the new suit. It would be great if they show thugs or the joker fleeing in the rooftops with bats pursuing not far behind, leaping building gaps with grace and swinging from poles (ala the crow) but with more style and doing that for a long chase without stoping or using his glider. Ending the chase with bats landing efortlesly in front of his prey. He's supposed to be this creature of the night and at the same time he's a ninja. well... I wanna see him climbing walls but fast looking almost catlike and leaping from a window ledge to a fire escape and landing in crouched position.

he has the training and the suit's supposed to be flexible and light (inthe context of the film). I don't want him doing flips that would be counterproductive. They can do that(not the flips but the leaping and fast climbing) with practical stunts, wires and then erase them out in post and if he has the new suit it for sure will be sleeker and lighter and it will be a perfect moment to showcase it.

Two things that are really key for me when it comes to the fight scenes in TDK.

1. Batman inflict more pain on his opponents. I want to see him breaking arms, legs and noses and I want to see them screaming in pain.

2. The editing of the fight scenes needs to be improved of course.

1. ABSOLUTELY 100% AGREE!

2. Meh...Slightly modified. I think we need to see what Bats is doing, but I really like the quick sharp cuts. I wouldn't mind more of a Matrix style fighting.

I liked the CR style of fighting just because it looked so improvisational. Also, it looks like Bond's own style that he created himself.

I didnt hate the fighting scenes in BB but I liked some improvement.
BB's fight scenes was shot so tight, edited quickly and too claustrophobic for many. But it will be hard to surpassed BB's greatness that's for sure.

I don't mind if Nolan stays with the same approach but pulls the camera back during the action.

I just hope that we get a very intense/brutal fight scene where Batman is just pounding the absolute piss out of the Joker. You know take a page out of the Hush scene and have Gordon almost kill Batman. Instead of having it be a random person, have it be Rachel and Batman in an animalistic rage attacks and proceeds to punch, kick, and constantly pounds him into a bloody pulp that eventually turns into him choking The Joker.

He's about to kill him and Gordon shoots him in order to get him to stop, thus moving it to Joker's trial and Dent being scarred.

Agreed.

Nolan needs to take action direction from Martin Campbell (Casino Royale). WIDE, CLEAR shots please.....no quick, close shots like in Batman Begins. the fight scenes were one of my only gripes about the movie...
Yeah I totally agree but I thought the fight scenes in BB where pretty good other than that
