Interstellar - Part 5

The more I see from Interstellar, the more I wanna re-watch Europa Report.

The second poster... urgh. The teaser poster was more imaginative and subtle.

I am hoping a memorable performance from this movie :)
( keeping my fingers crossed )

Has anybody watched Cosmos? The new one that aired on FOX this year I mean, it's on Netflix now if you didn't catch it when it aired. It's wonderful. The warm reception it got bodes well for this movie, I think. The science community is probably gonna go bananas for Interstellar, but I'm really hoping that mainstream interest in science and space exploration is on its way to making a comeback.

Cosmos was great !

upside down mountain?

Sequel to Inception?

BBBBBBBURRRRRRHHHHHHHNNNNNNNNNN

At first, I was did not notice that, I realized it only after reading your post. :oldrazz:

Can't wait for this !

Agreed... I know which one I'd rather have on my wall.

Where has all the creativity gone? It's great for what it is, but it shouldn't be a final poster.

Nolan is a frontrunner?

Yeah, the new poster looks like fan-art. Sadly this has become the norm for Hollywood. The teaser poster was nice though.

I wouldn't rule out some more posters once the marketing blitz hits full force in October.

I think the poster looks like your standard Christopher Nolan poster.

And now that I'm thinking about it, I'm wondering why WB and Paramount elected to release Interstellar in November, rather than October. (Apart from the obvious reasons.) You'd think with Gravity doing blockbuster-sized business ($716M globally) and winning Oscars with an early October release, they'd do that.

I know the studios see early November as a launchpad for big movies now, in addition to summer and holidays, but you'd figure WB would keep that October spot for Interstellar since it worked out well with a similarly themed movie.

The poster looks more blander than his usual movie materials. And not a fan of that serif font used for the cast and crew legend either.

An improvement. However, I'm still a little iffy on the tagline.

Yeah, the tagline is weak. But this poster is better.

Kinda reminds me of True Detective. As Rust looked at the stars when he was in Alaska and he had a daughter.

Definitely better. I don't mind the tagline.

I like that poster more and yeah I think the tagline is meh. I'm sure the film will be good though.

I love the message and implication from the tagline and it seems on point with what the movie may be trying to say. From a marketing perspective it's a bit clunky, but hey..."Boldy go where no man has gone before" was already taken :oldrazz:

I really hate when a studio releases publicity photos, and then the poster is just that publicity photo. Do the poster designers really not have access to more images than fan message boards?

Meanwhile, here are some actual fan posters for this movie for this movie.

There's this bit in USA Today which mentions there's going to be an interview with McC this weekend and it sounds like he talks about Interstellar in more detail.

"Jessica Chastain Talks About Getting Through a Painful Year — and How 'Interstellar' Made Matthew McConaughey Cry"
We haven’t discussed the other major movie you have coming out this fall, Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar. Are details still top-secret?
I can tell you I saw my costar Matthew McConaughey on Saturday. In his own words, the movie is an “event.” He said he cried three times when he had seen it recently. I’m so excited about my character. She really moved me. And working with Christopher Nolan, it makes sense why people lose their breath around him. He is the real deal, full-stop, technically. And also he’s the kind of director that, when giving an acting note, makes your performance better. He doesn’t just insert himself to do it. He actually makes you better. He’s an actor’s director.
Science adviser to 'Interstellar' writing book

NEW YORK (AP) — A companion guide to Christopher Nolan's "Interstellar" promises not only some background on one of the year's most anticipated movies but also some basic science.

Publisher W.W. Norton and Company announced Wednesday that Kip Thorne's "The Science of Interstellar" will coincide with the November release of the movie. Thorne is a theoretical physicist, and was the scientific adviser and executive producer of "Interstellar."

The publisher says Thorne plans to explain "the dazzling science that underpins the film." The book will include a foreword by Nolan.

"Interstellar," a philosophical science fiction thriller, stars Oscar winners Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway.

Another tie-in book was previously announced: "Interstellar: Beyond Time and Space," by Mark Cotta Vaz. Vaz also has written about the making of "Finding Nemo" and "The Incredibles."

I LOVE that second one. It looks like a natural progression from the teaser poster.

I just came out of a space time connection from a wormhole created by this genius, and it is a masterpiece.
Trailers and posters are mere grains of sand to the beach that is #Interstellar surrounded by a massive ocean of emotion and relativity.
