Interstellar - Part 5

People, people. James Cameron saw it. And this is his reaction -

"When Alfonso showed me Gravity last year, my jaw dropped. I didn't think they could elevate things any further...What Chris has achieved with Interstellar is leaps and bounds beyond anything ever created. It's astonishing."

That's a lot of praise. Can't wait to see this.

I'm not expecting a huge Nolany brain-twister like Inception or The Prestige, but rather a very emotionally charged adventure film like Apollo 13. That said, if there is some Nolany Goodness that makes me scratch my head for years to come, that's a welcome bonus. :)

(I'm pretty sure knowing Nolan, we'll all be having HUGE discussions and debates in this thread for months.)

Edgar Wright's approval gets me even more hype. I've seen the twitter reactions already but his makes me go "okay there is something possibly great here"

Yeah, anytime a good filmmaker praises the work of another good filmmaker, you know his/her opinion has merit. I remember when Jon Favreau and James Cameron were flipping out about The Dark Knight's IMAX scenes, and I was like, "Yeah, this is going to be special."

Just want to once again say that the cinematography in this film looks stunning.
Hoyte Van Hoytema man.

Still, the shots looked right out of Nolan's playbook. I often wonder if it would look radically different under Wally.

Fake or not, I get the impression Gravity is the benchmark for this film, or am I way off?

I'm officially jealous and mad at anybody who's already seen the movie.

Carmike and Marquee have also used digital projectors exclusively for years now. I dont know of any major theater chains that use film projectors besides a limited number of 70mm IMAX theaters and some independent 35mm theaters.

I doubt WB will even print this on 35 mm film. There will be a limited number of IMAX prints but that will be it.

The last film print I saw was Paranormal Activity 1 in a local theater chain in Severeville, TN.

I live in Nashville and as far as I know there is a film projecting IMAX theater here. It's something like one of sixty in the entire country.

For all those posting fake reactions from famous directors - a plague on all your houses. :cmad:

I can tell you this, Mattis Mcgonnuget is great, but Matt Diamond steal the show.

Whoo! I wonder what's going on in that last one aka why no green screens around this shuttle.
