Probably will see Big Hero 6 Friday, and then this on Saturday. :)

Seeing this on Tuesday at the Bullock Texas State History Museum in IMAX! :woot:

I'm going to see it next Saturday or Sunday but I'm not super excited for it. I'm sure I'm going to like the film and I wouldn't be surprised if I loved it but the marketing has really failed to excite me.

Were the trailers just not that effective for you? Some of my friends are hesitant about seeing it, too.

Yeah it's the trailers and T.V spots. Outside of Nolan, who is a great reliable filmmaker, I just don't think the trailers have much of a hook if any. The trailers quality doesn't have anything to do with the film's quality of course but they are used to get people to see a film so they are kinda important.

I didn't care for Gravity's trailers last year but they did have a hook, it was a simple one but it existed.

Interesting. I found the trailer for Interstellar pretty compelling because of the focus on Cooper's relationship with Murph and the dramatization of his choice to leave his kids. I know the separated parent dynamic has been done a lot, but I'm a sucker for those kinds of stories.

I agree about Gravity's trailers, though. I thought they were kind of overdone and tried too hard to make the film look epic. But Alfonso Cuaron and the whole zero gravity situation hadn't been done so beautifully before, so I was intrigued.

I think I'm going to like the father daughter relationship stuff, it looks well done to me.

I couldn't resist taking a listen. A dark and atmospheric sound. The beginning has a 2001 type thing going on. The organ stuff at the end is good too. :up:

I'm in the same boat. The trailers and stuff haven't really impressed me to be honest. But its one of those movies where I just know its going to be a good movie, so I'm going to see it anyway. I'm sure it will be worth my ticket money.

Ive only seen the teaser trailer. The one with McConaughey's voice over.

Anyone see Jessica Chastain at the premiere?
:hrt::hrt::hrt:

Peter Travers loved it. I saw a TV spot with one of his trademark, hyperbolic blurbs today.

"Nirvana for movie lovers."

Or something to that effect.

And Quentin Tarantino loved it according to Kris Tapley.

Kristopher Tapley
@devincf @newbeverly Tarantino loved it.

QT was never overly enthused with Nolan's movies before. I'm pretty sure that he doesn't care for the "realistic" take on Batman.

Nolan hasn't made a film I dislike yet, and I can't see him breaking that run with Interstellar.

Eh, I'm not the lover of all things Nolan like many on this board are. He's about 50/50 for me in terms of whether it'll be any good. I'll see the movie eventually I guess if I have nothing else to do. We'll see. Though even so I'll probably just torrent it or some such thing.

Eh. I dunno but I'm not a fan of it. I'm super pumped up for the movie but I was kind of hoping for a more light/hopeful type of sound... it is space exploration after all.

The score may contain that material. I'm not sure. But for this track, I think Hans has captured the scary isolation of deep space. And the seriousness of their mission.

I'm not sure if the score track list has been posted yet. I don't think it has. I've spoiler tagged it:
