I went to see Aquaman and the theater played probably around 30 minutes worth of trailers. I feel like the amount of trailers they show would usually be around just 3. Hellboy, Pet Sematary, Avengers Endgame, The Kid Who Would be King, Shazam, and Glass. I was honestly starting to wonder if the movie would ever start.

I went to see Aquaman and the theater played probably around 30 minutes worth of trailers. I feel like the amount of trailers they show would usually be around just 3. Hellboy, Pet Sematary, Avengers Endgame, The Kid Who Would be King, Shazam, and Glass. I was honestly starting to wonder if the movie would ever start.

And yet I've gone and seen only one. I think three is about good, more than that is too long.

That is worth making an official complaint about and going on hunger-strike till they compensate you with 5 years worth of cookies. Cookies and coffee have natural synergies which have now been lost to your company - make sure you use that word in your corporate complaint - the board can't ignore it.

Think of EA as the Donald Trump of game studios. They never listen to feedback, they lie so damn much, they push gambling in games more than almost any other studio, theyve bought multiple beloved studios and closed them, theyve **** all over the star wars brand with their greed, they are currently breaking international laws to keep gambling in their games, they deliberately unbalance games to push loot boxes and other monetization practices, they use predatory practices to get kids and gambling addicts to buy lootboxes... the list of ****ty things EA has done is endless. The gaming community and the industry would be so much better without EA.

So the more the greedy execs at EA suffer the happier I am.

And it sounds like EA is getting pushback. They revised their financial forecast down $350 million. Battlefield V may have bombed.

And given the overall stock performance, I think some EA executives are losing their jobs.

These eyes work on a cute real Hedgehog, not a muscular CGI Sonic.

Yeah, EA is pretty ****ty. They are currently breaking a law in order to keep gambling in a game children buy.

Jim Sterling made a great point. Some game companies act like they perpetually can't make enough money, yet they make billions a year. The problem is, they're expected to make more money each, and every year. So they monitize more, and more. More microtransactions, more loot boxes, more special editions.

The problem is, they're working with a finite resource. Only so much of the gamer population is willing to fork over $100's in online purchases on top of an already full priced game. Especially when some games cost more than that (Fallout 76 had a $200 collectors edition), and take a free to play mobile game approach on top of that.

Rockstar can't continually top GTA V's $5 billion. But companies try anyway by further monitizing a shrinking core of gamers on aging games. It's just not sustainable. I think straight up gambling in EA's Star Wars game, and Fallout 76's $20 for a Santa costume are the straws that broke the camel's back with many gamers.

It is getting crazy with trailers before films these days. And that's saying something from me because I actually do like to see trailers before the film. But with the bombardment of ads that currently occur before the trailers start and then maybe six to seven trailers before the feature starts you are looking at like close to a half hour before you actually get to the film. Madness.

That said... The Godzilla trailer on the big screen was impressive as all get out. Glad I caught that one at my Aquaman showing.

I'm cool with 6 or 7. Maybe not if I'm in a rush and have seen them all before a load of times, but otherwise I love getting a summary of everything that's coming out.
