of course meachuim is likely to be danny fist but also like jessica with jeri. But we are more then likely going to have someone else from kun lun to be a threat to tie in the mystical stuff.

That's what folks been thinking judt like Claire showed up in last episode of jj.

Well that's good to hear that Shang Chi will be in this. I wonder how big a role he will have. Will he be a friend or rival to Iron Fist?

I want to see him in something like his classic 70s outfit. Although that just looks like a Kung Fu suit, so I don't know how he could really go around in that most of the time. Maybe when he's training he could be in the red and gold outfit. Not sure what he would wear the rest of the time.

They need to cast someone who could have played as Bruce Lee. Jason Scott Lee is too old these days.

I'm thinking Shang will be the guy saying all the stuff that's been bandied about recently about cultural appropriation, white washing, etc. And he'll kick Danny's a** at least once.

That doesn't fit his character.... at all.

As for who wins in a fight, let them trade wins.

Oh snap

I don't want Shang Chi to be the mouth piece for SJW. The character shouldn't be the arbitrator of Asian culture.

Shang Chi has a bunch of non-Asian martial arts friends and family. Shang's adopted brother M'Nai (Midnight) is a black African.

I don't want Shang Chi to be a "Social Justice Warrior". Mostly because that term is primarily used by racists, misogynists and Trump supporters. But the idea that Danny may be the wrong person to control the Iron Fist should absolutely be addressed, and having Shang Chi deliver the message would make it even stronger when he eventually agrees to Danny's worthiness.

Characters like Davos (Steel Serpent) exist to challenge Danny's right to posses the Iron Fist.

Danny proved his right to the Iron First by defeating the dragon Shou-Lao the Undying. Danny earned it. It is a power/title earned and not bestowed.

Danny is just one of a long like of Iron Fists. Most of the previous Iron Fists have been Asian it seems.

And if this is going to be a straight word for word adaptation of the comic book version than you are going to be right. But that is highly unlikely. My guess is Shang Chi is going to start out as an antagonist and will fight alongside Danny by series end. And the writers are going to have to address the controversy of casting a white guy in the role of Kung Fu master.

Maybe Shang Chi could point out that the "Iron Fist" is nothing special, because simply channelling chi through your fist in that way has been done dozens of times in hundreds of martial arts movies. Sammo Hung even did that in the final episode of Martial Law to break through a door.

I think a good way to bring in Shang Chi is to go back to his spy roots. Have Shang Chi investigate Madame Gao/Steel Serpent because they have ties to his father's criminal empire.

Shang and Iron Fist cross paths and team up.

Shang Chi doesn't need the Iron Fist. It has been shown on multiple occasions that he can match Danny Rand without it which just goes to show how badass Shang Chi is.

Shang Chi is awesome because he is Bruce Lee crossed with Jason Bourne.

I'm happy to hear about Shang Chi. I'm really hoping that since Marvel don't own the rights to Fu Manchu, that we get the actual real Mandarin introduced on Iron Fist and see some Ten Rings guys as random goons. We aren't getting Iron Man 4 any time soon and Hail To The King left a pretty huge cliffhanger.

Well they did used to own the rights to Fu Manchu. Don't know about now. But even if they did still own him, he would be seen as too much of a racist stereotype. Even the name would be racist, so using that particular character wouldn't fly.

But they might be able to get away with the Mandarin.
