Keep in mind they waited until the last minute for Daredevil's costume in the first season, and his costume was pretty much a letdown that they had to change right at the start of season 2.

Punisher didn't get the skull costume until the very end and we barely even got to see him in it. Didn't even use that cool gatling chain gun he used in the promos.

Luke Cage didn't really have a costume outside of using a hoodie as his cape and cowl. Somehow he'd always find a black or dark hoodie that's inner lining was yellow to reference his classic costume. He had his classic costume on for five seconds like a joke.

This season, we are going to see Danny Rand walking around in plain clothes most of the time. No costume. That's my prediction.

The benefit with Danny is if they have him shirtless with green sweats, he's basically in costume because of the tattoo. I would love to see the whole get up including the mask, but I'm not holding out a bunch of hope.

I think the difference here could be his costume has lineage, and he will be a "hero" before the start of the series. Daredevil was something makeshift, same for the Punisher and Luke Cage. They actually explored the costume idea with Jessica and why she doesn't have one.

I'm not saying he will get a costume. I'm simply saying the chances of him sporting that prelude comic look as a costume in the present are slim to none.

Why would he not have some form of a costume? Daredevil had one, Elektra had one, Punisher had one, Misty Knight was shown in her traditional comic garb for a few seconds. Even Luke and Jessica, who's traditional costumes are absolutely ridiculous, who don't even wear costumes anymore in the comics, got their costumes shown.

We know how this goes. Danny will probably get a costume that's close to his comic look at about 45 minutes into the final episode. I hate that they do this, I feel like it's way too much build to a trivial moment, but this is always how it goes.

For example, he's got the beard the whole season. The beard would make it pretty obvious who he is if he's got a beard that his mask doesn't cover throughout the whole season.

For most of the season, sure. I'd still place money on him getting a costume at the bottom of the last episode. If Iron Fist goes into Defenders with no mask in naught but some sweatpants it would be a spectacular and unusual fail if Marvel did decide to go that route. I don't think they'd do that.

I think we have plenty of reason. These shows tend to downplay those elements.

All the photos and concept art we've seen show him without a mask and costume.

Daredevil can't even get a costume with the DD symbol on it. I just see this as the direction they're taking the character in.

If he gets his costume in Defenders and it's badass I will learn to deal with it. If he goes through all of season 1 without getting a cool costume, like a legitimate costume and not a cute reference or joke, I will be a sad panda.
