Was Cotton mouth even that good. I mean really? M. Ali is dope. But especially after Kingpin and Purple Man, he was just eh. Other than beating those 2 guys nothing he did was cool to me

I think the flashbacks helped make the character more interesting.

I don't doubt they will give him a costume. I can see it showing up at the end of Iron Fist or somewhere during The Defenders.

It's just Ramirez on Defenders isn't it? Petrie left before filming started.

Agreed. Daredevil is prob in my MCU top 5 overall, including both movies and TV. There is certainly enough momentum from the other shows to build a proper Defenders, even if Iron Fist ends up a stumble. If we have doubts about the writing team on Defenders, watch the Punisher and Daredevil graveyard scene again. We have potential.
Every moment with Matt and Frank are exactly what I expect when you see two heroes clash. It is all time stuff for me as well.

Agreed. And he was replaced by....Diamondback...oooooooh Diamondback
Diamondback is an odd duck to me. Because while I don't outright hate him and understand what they were trying to do with him, I still don't know why they went that route.

Now that Iron Fist looks to be a failure because it didn't believe in its own source material enough and tried to ground fantastic elements too much in the same way as Josh Trank's Fantastic Four, is it time to ask that the live action Iron Fist rights revert back to Marvel?

Marvel will rejoice that they got the rights back to Iron Fist and then realise that they already soiled the bed while they were in it.

A good portion of the reviews I have read for this seem to not be able to get over the fact that Danny Rand is white.

I knew this would get bad reviews when they hired Scott Buck. And then the trailer hit and it looked bad. Can't say I'm shocked...

Scott Buck already confirmed no costume in Iron Fist. There is reason to doubt.

You guys know that people can criticize the general concept of Iron Fist being white, right? They might feel that just because it was in the comics that doesn't excuse it.

Personally, I'm in the middle and think that there is no winning solution with the character (especially not with Marvel's poor track record with Asian characters).

Being upset that a white character is white is ridiculous. Especially when you have to try and make the white savior argument, which isn't a thing with Danny Rand. There is a presumption that because a white man is good at martial arts, that makes it racist. Using that theory, Matt's racist.

The show is probably is probably okay and not great based on the various review.
But yeah most of the okay/meh/negative review, I read waste time complaining about Danny being white.

And that's why I knew this was doomed from the jump. Not talking about my own personal enjoyment but when the "woke" people were complaining about it, I knew there would be an uphill battle.

I remember the Collider article announcing Jones casting with the subline "Congratulations to the whitest guy ever" or something like that

I still believe JJ and LG were so well praised despite their flaws because of the social political themes.

33% score on Metacritic. That's not good. I'd honestly hate to be Jeph Loeb right now.

Can't wait for all the Luke Cage sucked revisionist history because Iron Fist didn't deliver.

Certain people already got upset Cage was most watched Marvel Netflix show

The way Luke Cage handled it's themes was so heavy handed and corny it almost came off as pandering. It completely took me out of it for the first four or so episodes. I didn't actually enjoy the show until Claire showed but that's another rant for another day.

Im trying to catch up with all this. Im shocked that this is being so panned, this seems like an easy homerun. This is basically Arrow with a bigger budget, better actors and much better fight choreographers. Whats the big thing that seems to be bringing this down?

I like Luke Cage, but I do find it easily the weakest.

I know the show did well at launch, but was it really the most watched one? Not sure there are numbers to back that up.

Agreed. I like Ali and Cottonmouth but his character felt a tad over hyped. Kingpin and Purple Man were more compelling for me. I wasn't too cut up about him being killed off because there really was nowhere left for his character to go.

He isn't Kingpin or the Purple Man. But he is really good imo. Based completely around a great performance.

One thing I am frustrated hearing about is the use of Claire. She is suppose to be some sort of connective tissue, but she comes off more like a prop or a bit of plot convenience in Luke Cage and Jessica Jones. It doesn't sound like that is changing here.
