The incident where Punisher shot at jaywalkers- I don't think he actually killed them- was a result of being drugged up on some heavy-duty hallucinogens that Jigsaw slipped him while in prison. By the way, if you read the original Punisher mini, Circle of Blood, a prison psychiatrist who examined Frank states that "he tests so sane now [that all of the drugs are out of his system] that it's spooky." My two cents: he's not any crazier than the any utilitarian-minded head of state, who sleeps soundly at night knowing that he has caused the deaths of 1000's of people in the name of what he percieves to be the greater good. Not trying to get political, just trying to think of real world people who might be responsible for as much death as Castle is.

I think the Punisher is insane. The fact that he has a 'code of conduct' means nothing. His code of conduct is the thing that makes him insane. He feels, as others have stated, that he is judge, jury and excecutioner, and therefore can justifiably lump everyone in the world into two groups: those who he's going to kill, and those he isn't. There's no notion of reform for him, no sense that people can make mistakes, no sense of just cause. The people he kills may have felt that they were in the right for killing someone, and yet he judges them guilty, simply for doing once or twice what he has done tens of thousands of times. Case in point for Punisher being mad: the end of Ennis' 'Welcome Back, Frank' arc, the three vigilantes ask him to be in their 'gang', and he shoots them all. Now I admit that Elite and Mr Payback were the two extremes of the spectrum, and were definitely insane by the Punisher's rules, by The Holy was only doing what the Punisher has been doing for years, and yet he shoots him. The man is genuinely insane. And comparing him to The Joker is like comparing Hitler to my Grandad: they're both racists, by all means, but one is slightly more than the other. same with The Joker. He's mental, clearly, but so is the Punisher, just in different degrees.

So to conclude the concluding part of my conclusion: The Punisher is insane.

I'm pretty sure he uses common sense most of the time...I have never seen him go round shooting jay walkers for example. I have no problem with him offing rapists, muggers, etc, because they cross a line of physical violence and intimidation for the sake of it. Surely even you can't make these guys out to be innocent victims? I mean do you really think these aren't genuinely bad people? Really?

And your point was in relation to Harlekin saying he killed a jay walker, but failed to mention it was not of his own free will and due to outside forces....so it was spun in a different way, so clearly you were wrong.

But said someone failed to mention the whole ''Jigsaw slipping him hallucenegenics'' scenario, and the fact that he shot at them, not shot them. See what I mean photo? You can spin things by editing out and ommitting details and scenarios.

Frank castle shot jaywalkers in reality seems to be under hallucenegenics slipped to him by Jigsaw, he went temporarily insane and shot at jay walkers heavily under the influence of said drugs.

You asked for opinions if people thought Punisher was insane, they did, but you come in and call them idiots, morons and so forth because it doesn't agree with your opinion, that you've decided is now fact.
