Is the warzone going direct to DVD??

I know that kinda confused me at first,I was like where's McDonald. Then I find out that Budiansky is McDonald:)But is it true, in that scene when Frank say "this is just the beginning"
He is buring Jigsaw alive?

If he is, then I'm guessing his end fight with Jigsaw was made less anti-climatic.

I think they do have their big climatic fight(If you watch the ending to the red band trailer Frank Head butt the hell out of Jigsaw).I guess Frank wanted to make sure Billy stay dead this time:)If it's true,it is a hell of a way to kill a person.By burning them alive, kinda remind me of Slavers :unishr: Oh yeah Grundy,I don't have the last pages to the script.Do you know how Looney Bin Jim die?

Being burned alive is a hell of a lot better than Frank just cutting him in leg and having him bleed out. As over the top as Hensleigh's script was, he at least gave Jigsaw a violent ****ing death. As for LBJ it's death by grenade, though he may be the being burned alive.

Thanks Man:)But I was hoping that Frank would kill Jim by chopping him up with a AXE
Oh well death by grenade is cool too:)
Hensleigh must been high when he wrote his script. What happen to the guy who wrote DieHard 3 and co wrote The Rock(with Mr. QT)Con Air :(Man did he suck when it came to The Punisher.

I thought he got a lot things right and some wrong. I think he understood the character more than Alexander.

Think about it, you forget the setting in Florida and changed origin and just look at what he did with the character of Frank Castle. The movie was pretty much Year One, so he's not a full blown psychopath (read Year One the characterization is pretty spot on). But by the end of the movie he's shooting guys dying on the ground without even looking at them.

OT Tom Jane was a good punisher, but he should have been Max Payne. And John Woo or Zack Snyder should had direct it:)Sorry I had to that off my chest:word::brucebat::unishr::marv::hellboy:

I agree with you on that,it was badass of Pun to shoot without looking. But sadliy that wasn't Hensleigh, that was Jane's acting. And Jane like Stevenson understand The Punisher,Hensleigh didn't that's why he took from other action films:(If you look at a couple of Lexi scenes we saw so far Frank is psychopath. And like Travis (the man )Bickle,he sit alone in his madness and have nightmares. And Frank is a NY boy not a FL cop:)and his whole entire family never killed. The only family he had was his wife and kids, when he lost them he snapped.I think Hensleigh was a good writer, but I don't know what the hell he is doing now:(

Yeah, but an actors performance most times will depend on the director. Like when he kills Saint, Hensleigh talks about how he didn't want Castle to gloat about it, Castle gets no real satisfaction out it. Also, look at the Star Wars prequels, filled with some great actors, acting horribly. But regardless, his family was killed and started the downward spiral into his madness, that's all that should matter.

And I don't see Travis Bickle at all in the War Zone scenes, I see generic '80s action movie hero (spining upside, picking up a guy by the leg with one arm, caving a guys face with one punch). Stevenson's a good actor and seems to care about the character, but there were some bad performances in Hooligans, so hopefully he was able to give a good performance regardless.

The only thing I didn't like about Hensleigh's script for Punisher 2 was the final battle in Wal-Mart. I felt that was silly considering everything else that came before that sequence was serious, dark, and compelling. I liked his first Punisher movie with Tom Jane and I just didn't get why people hated it saying,"it wasn't a Punisher movie, it was a Frank Castle movie", Newsflash!!!: it was an origin movie. Frank had just lost his family, he was going after the people that killed them and after he got his vengeance he decided, by the end of the movie, he wanted to PUNISH all criminals. Frank becoming the Punisher at the end was like how Batman (although in a different way) became THE Batman we all know and love at the end of Batman Begins. So I thought Jane and Hensleigh planned the characterization of The Punisher really well.

Yeah it was over the top, the fight with Pittsy would been cool, if only for it ending in severe eye damage.

Even thougn I love the classic real man action scenes.I wasn't talking about that, just at that scene where Frank is at the cemetery. And I'm sure that we are going to get more of that acting. And watch Lexi short film call Johnny Flynton it has a Death Sentence, Taxi feel to it .The 04 ending where Frank vs Saint sucked really hard,it had no fight scene,no epic shoot out,one shot. Then he drag him and make a burning skull:(When heard that Travolta was going to be the bad I was happy. He rock in Broken Arrow and Face/off,but he fell a sleep in this movie:(That's why I thank God that they reboot Punisher.PS Johnny Flynton has way better acting then Hooligans, and Tom Jane should had never played Frank,he should had been Max Payne. And John Woo or Zack Snyder:)04 Punisher is not a bad film(I even have the unrated verson):)I still watch it even though I hate that he live in FL. As a Welcome Back Frank movie,I give it a (B).But this film has a max feel to it:word:and it have a HardBoild,Killer,SinCity,Death Sentence,Rambo,Robocop,Desperrado,Hard Target, feel to it:unishr:

****, I just noticed what I meant to say was "he gets no real satisfaction out of it."

S. Grundy,

Have you read the script?

If so how would you rate it?

How would you rate it?

As a Punisher film I give it a 1 for effort. As a stand alone action film that appears on your tv late night and your too lazy to turn over and turn off the tv I'd give it a healthy 7. The fact that they made this big deal that the film would be more like the MAX comics, yet the film doesn't showcase them in their respective time lines, indicates to me that Marvel considers all of us dumba$$es. The film just throws all the great characters like Mginty, Bulat into 1 big nasty stew. It's disrespectful for Marvel to raise our hopes up like that, and feed us this crap. I don't know why they are so ****~ing stupid, they are a company who over the course of over 30 years have amassed a fortune from a large cult following of dedicated readers, yet they can't get their films right in respect to the fans. I repeat, that its the simple fact that they marketed this film as MAX when they know full dog on well any sensible person who has read the Max line knows Punisher doesn't hang from chandeliers and break dance fight on table tops during dinner time. Punisher is a serious character who has amassed a huge bodycount, by diligently, and carefully planning attacks. No, in this go around we get the moral question of if it's right, because I don't wanna be responsible for any new Punishers that may crop up from a bad film! ACK THE AGONY!!!!! If you really read the frikin Max comics like you said, you would realize that no fool would want the life Frank Castle has. If so, Id be out there Punishing criminals, and Marvel film writers. Hey, Im nuking futz!

Maybe if the names Bulat, Mginty, etc

(except for Jigsaw he sucks, so do whatever you want with him)

were different and retitled 1990 Punisher summer special written by an overworked, stressed out, Marvel writer

(who just discovered his girlfriend was cheating on him and his goldfish is pregnant)

just maybe, I will call this a Punisher film. Sadly my fellow Punished Punisher fans, this is Marvel's direct way of telling us that we are stupid to ever support Marvel since they began as Timely Comics. We were stupid to be inspired by Punisher, or (boo!) DareDevil (a.k.a TheRedClown) , or GhostRider, or Elektra, that we were foolishly led to believe that they would be given Oscar caliber film treatments, instead we get this "Barney Saves Xmas" crap you shove down our throats! If the University of Phoenix wants to establish themselves as the Wal-Mart of education, then I guess that makes you the "Target" of bad comic book films.

Ok, so I got jumped once when I was a teen, but I wouldn't have had the courage to stomp the living **** out of those cowards had I not read "Circle of Blood" for the first time. But instead of Circle of Blood you dummies could have easily adapted, you spoon feed us 2 police officers and giant loogy stew. I'm sorry for all the people in high school I argued with when I defended Marvel as the best comic book company, you guys have done it to us, me 3 ****ing times already!!! I really hope every DC film that comes out the next 10 years hands all of you your asses. I so mean that...........

That's why they change alot:)the guys who wrote Ironman did the rewrites. And nobody seen their script yet:unishr:

I hope for a last minute change. In fact, my deepest hope is all this news is fabricated, even the trailer that the script we read wasnt the script at all, that in fact instead of being titled Warzone, it will be titled "In the Beggining" with a sequel called "Kitchen Irish" followed by Slavers" then mother Russia

you see where Im going with this?

keep on dreaming.

Maybe if Michael Bay was doing it this would all be false news. He's known for that. But this is LGF. The new kings of grindhouse movies.

in that case Im stocking up on tylenol pms then.

Not much has changed going by the trailers, some dialouge here and there and some action, and Budiansky was thrown in too. That's about it, it's basically the same as the script I read.

Very well said Obake,,, Like yourself I'm a huge "Old school" punisher fan.
"Circle of blood" would be excellent and yes,,,Stan Lee has said more than once he ,,,,,dosen't like superhero's that Kill.
and we know he hates the punisher as a hero.

the sad thing is like Blade, Ghost rider, AND the punisher have to make it by their fans. just like you'll never see a cameo (not that I care) in these movies.

marvel and Stan Lee could have promoted "Punisher Warzone" way better at Comic-con.
but chose not too.

unlike Iron man last year.

so your picture of stan Lee is correct.:unishr:

Whoa whoa whoa! I'm pretty sure Marvel is doing everything in post they can for this movie, sending over the editing team from the Incredible Hulk... they even had the Iron Man writers do a re-write.

Stan Lee may not love the Punisher (oh, and APPARENTLY he IS in Blade, they just cut the scene) but he doesn't own Marvel's movie division. Marvel may not be rolling out all stops for a 20+ million dollar movie, but they are trying to help, at least from behind the scenes.

They rewrite something and added lines or situation near at comic-book like "Sometimes i'd like to get my hands on God...".

It's a good script!

I agree:)I love the script and I'm happy to see that they did some rewrites and clean it up a just little bit.Letting us know, that they are trying to make a good Punisher film:):unishr:
