Its official: W.B. waited too long

Cinema is not dumbed down. Why do you think those smaller, serious films don't make much money? Because most people don't want to think when they go to the movies. I'm not trying to start an argument, that's just what I believe.

Cinema is being dumbed down for the very reason you stated, because movie studios (and TV) believe that people don't want to think, which isn't true. They treat the audience like idiots, basically saying 'we'll make it easy for you to follow', heaven forbid people actually have to take notice and concentrate of the plot or what is being done or said on screen. People aren't idiots, I wish studios would stop treating people like they are and stop producing crap that has no plot, one dimensional characters and mind numbing special effects.

I see what you're saying, but my point is that these are the kinds of movies that make money. So people obviously don't care.

I think we should move on. It's great that we disagree. That just makes the world more interesting.

^ That I'll agree on. :yay:

Yeah, mate. I just figured we weren't gonna get anywhere. So what recent movies do you like? Just curious.

^ The Departed was a good film, not Scorsese's best but still good, A History of Violence, Million Dollar Baby, Casino Royale, Blood Diamond, Pan Labyrinth (I'll throw Batman Begins in as well :woot: ) those are some I like.

^ Sorry, I thought you meant recent as in years. Ratatouille was good, Hot Fuzz was hilarious, best comedy I've seen in years, Knocked Up was good, Zodiac too, they're probably the cream of the crop for me so far this year.

I love Hot Fuzz. We have something in common. What a shock.

I got the 'Hot Fuzz/Shaun of the Dead' double pack dvd the other day. I watched them back to back and I've never laughed so hard in my life.

I'd release it the same day as Wolverine. Wolverine is no threat to the JLA. I've said before that Wolverine isn't going to make xmen money the way FOX is thinking. FOX think by just using Wolverine that they are going to get the same results. I like Logan and all, but i want to see mutants with impressive powers. I don't see Wolverine making past 140 mil tops, and that's if it's good. JLA can take the same release date.

I keep saying it, Zodiac is one of the best films of the year. I just watched it, too, like an ahour ago (I got the DVD a few days ago but I hadn't been able to see it) and it is just a beatiful film. And everything's so perfect. The performances are all top notch. It is a fascinating film. Very creepy too. :ninja:

I thought The Bourne Ultimatum was great. I sure will be getting that one when it comes out, whenever that is.

Has it been released on DVD already? I can't believe I missed it. I need to get it.
