The Amazing Spider-Man J Jonah Jameson in the Reboot

Well, they still have alot of filming left, which gives plenty of time for them to cast an actor for JJJ.

They could have already casted him.

There were reports that Sally Field was being offered Aunt May, then nothing. Now every website is reporting her as Aunt May.

The same may have happened to J.J.

Maybe they're not going to introduce JJJ until the sequel.

Maybe Uncle Ben fakes his death, gets extensive plastic surgery, and returns under the guise of J. Jonah Jameson - newspaper mogul.

I used to think that, "Maybe they'll cast him later in the filming." But I don't think so anymore. We all thoguht the same with Jean and Scott before we found out they wouldn't be in FC.

Man, a Spider-Man film without Harry or Jameson? Could be interesting as to why they aren't in it yet. We'll have to wait to see the film to totally understand why.

If JJJ, Harry or Norman ain't in the movie, there's hopefully a good reason for that. One thing is certain, they simply didn't "forget" these characters. Like, the devs are all like "Nice script Vanderbildt! Wait a sec...where's JJJ, Harry and Norman? And where's MJ?", "Oh dammit I forgot those! Let's hope the fans won't notice.", "Yeah, let's go with it!"

^^ I really want to know why he's not in this film. He's such an important character, so it must have been a really good reason to have to leave him out.

remember those hobo gloves Garfield was wearing in the set pics with emma stone

yeah i think Parker is a jobless bum:awesome:

Really? He's a recognized member of the supporting cast and a fanboy favorite, but important? Nah.

I think the Bugle's presence will be felt in the film (there's a truck for the paper in the new batch of set pics), but they'll sort of tease at JJJ. And we won't get him until the sequel.

Peter hasn't bought a camera yet, lol. Let him do his homework with Gwen and save his freelancing for the sequel. Give the GA and comic nerds something to look forward too, plus give Parker another element to his journey in the (hopefully) trilogy

the film could possibly start off with Spider-Man being unknown to the citizens of New York. After all of the events occur between him and the Lizard, towards the end of the film, he may find a Bugle paper with a photo of him in bad quality, it may also have an ad saying that they're hiring for a web designer/photographer to get pics of the mysterious "Spider-Man", the film ends with him walking through doors and the camera pans up to show the Daily Bugle

That'd be a great sort of "non-cliffhanger" cliffhanger, if you get what I mean. It's not necessarily Green Goblin crashing a dinner party with a "To Be Continued..." but it generates excitement without having to cast anyone. Just a sign on a building that hints at things to come.

I think it would be cool, let's just say if this film didn't do as good as the previous or if Webb had no desire to make a sequel, it would be a good way to end

I hate that J. Jonah Jameson isn't going to be in this reboot. I mean... I'd hate even more that Harry Osborn isn't in this. I can understand Norman being saved for a sequel, but Betty Brant, Robbie, J.J.--- c'mon now, Webb! :cmad:

R. Lee Ermey, Ted Levine, Stephen Lang, a lot our picks would be a perfect JJ.

they've only been filming for a few weeks, who knows, they may cast him.

Well I can deal with the Osborn's not being in this first one since we just ended a series of films in which they were the focus . Ditto with MJ . As for JJJ, it's not even clear that Peter works for the Bugle yet so i'm willing to except if he's not in it. The new film is focussing on the characters that didn't shine in the last francise , hence it's not suprising to me that The Stacy's the Connors, and the stuff about Peter's Parents would get priority over the stuff we saw in the Raimi films.

It reminds me of Nolan using Ras, Scarecrow, and focussing on Bruce's journey to becoming Batman in BB as opposed to going the Burton/Schumacer route of just throwing characters out there without much back story or build up.

If they are going with the lizard, as it seems they are, it makes sense Peter would be interning at Conner's lab, thus not working at the Bugle, so no jjj makes sense.

Yeah makes sense. We'll probably see JJJ in the sequel im guessing.
