Hopefully more serious, less childish and cheesy like Simmons. And for once, I hope to actually believe that he owns the Daily Bugle and not Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey circus. Not bad...he's certainly going to be a different kind of JJJ. More dry.

I see this guy as a good candidate for J.J. Jameson: Dennis Farina!!!

Isn't he in jail or the nut house ?
No Slattery or Elliot. They're too serious. Jameson needs to be partly funny as well. I'm not saying copy Simmons, it's just I don't like JJ being deathly serious all the time. You're supposed to laugh at his whole over the top demeanor as well.
He wasn't just comic relief. He was used in more humerous moments, because there has to be some humor in these films, but he wasn't just comic relief. He hated Spider-Man, thought he was a crook and untrustwortty, and wanted to see him be brought down. And he was over the top. Jameson has always been over the top. His humor comes from that. A guy with a Hitler like mustache with a big cigar in his mouth and strange tall hair is already ridiculous. Lee said that Jameson was created out of the vision of the fast talking news paper editors of the 40's. Those guys are just like that. Simmons played it right. And he was funny too. How serious can you take it when a guy looks and acts like that? Simmons had it down.
