Well they've always done that. Moonraker was influenced by Star Wars. Octopussy probably by Indiana Jones.

That's true, yes. What I'm saying is the studio is influenced by other movies when I think it should be more influenced by the novels. Maybe, I don't know. I'd like to see Bond be developed as a character. That's probably why Casino Royale is my favorite of them all.

I say adapt the last four novels. They're all great.

Devil May Care
Carte Blanche
Solo
Trigger Mortis

They're sitting there waiting to be made.

He uses a stunt double.. even in fistfights.. watch the hotel fight from QoS closely.. there are quite a few shots where his double does the job.. even CR are a couple of shots..(for example stairwell fight or the bit where he jumps to his car over that green thingy at the parking-lot, which still baffles me that a stuntman had to do that)

It was also noticeable when he was fighting on top of the crane and the stunt double had that terrible wig.

Here is an idea...use a ****ing stunt man, Craig. A competent director and editor can make it so the audience wont notice. T least for the major stunts.

Movies are constantly using the CGI face over stunt double. Iron Man 3 is a very noticeable one.

Skyfall used one for the motorcycle chase.

Naomie Harris said on Twitter that she would like to play Moneypenny for a long time.

^ Good. She's a great Moneypenny. Best one since Lois Maxwell.

Why can't they give us a Canadian Moneypenny again instead of making her British?

I really like Ralph Fiennes as M, Naomie Harris as Moneypenny, and Ben Whishaw as Q.

Not remotely. I didn't even know the old Moneypenny was Canadian until that post.

Well Lois Maxwell wasn't English. She's Canadian, and she always spoke in a mid-Atlantic accent anyway, never a British one.

I live in Perth Australia, and I believe that Lois Maxwell moved here and passed away here a few years ago.

Just watched this again, really don't get the complaints, no, it's not Skyfall, but it's a good movie in its own right, and if this is to be Craig's final movie it's not a bad way to end things. My only real problem is with the resolution of the finale, Bond taking down the helicopter with a hand gun was abut anti climactic, but other than that I like the movie a lot,

Personally I wish Craig and Mendes would do one more with Waltz, but at the moment that seems unlikely.

I am stunned Sam Smith's song scooped the Oscar. It was surprising enough when it got the Golden Globe.

It's like the worst Bond song to get an Oscar when all these other ones have missed out. It's like finally deciding that maybe all the MCU films have some merit after all, and then giving the major award to Thor: The Dark World. :o

Was it a weak year for songs or something? What other songs was it up against?

I didn't like the song, but it was the best of a bad selection.

So a weak year song wise then.

Wasn't Skyfall nominated last time? That was a better song than this one, but it didn't win.

Sam Smith's performance. God. :funny:

I'm just waiting for some parodies of it.

If anything, sky fall should have won, personally, 'you know my name' has been my favourite since Goldeneye

Well. When the nominations came in, I was afraid this would happen. There was literally no hype around the other songs nominated. And the best song of 2015 IMO wasn't even nominated!
