James Bond 24 - Part 1

I wouldn't want him as the principle villain, but he would be an awesome cameo.

Travolta is just like Mickey Rourke.

They were both considered 'has beens' by the late 80's, and were giving a new chance by directors like Tarantino and Arononsky. But then they fall back into 'has been' territory again.

Then you start to realize 'Oh the main reason why their careers suffered in the late 80's were all self-infliciting'. It was all on them.

Travolta now is just cheese ball. Truthfully he works better as a supporting type actor now. He was fine in 'Savages', I'll admit.

But I'm telling you all: Watch 'The Killing Season' to see how hard he has fallen. Awful performance.

Travolta in this movie isn't happening, not as the Bond baddie anyways.

It's funny how someone brought up Travolta and then it became nearly a page of people negating that very thought.

Every man, woman and their dog voices interest in being in a Bond movie. Travolta can get to the back of the line.

Travolta would be jarring, not even because of his acting. How many big time American actors have just showed up in a Bond film? It would distract me initially.

I thought the Harrison Ford cameo in The Living Daylights was fine.

Whoa, which scene was that? I don't remember Ford having a cameo.

Christopher Walken was a Bond villain in the 80s

That's true. However, Walken being the villain back then was one thing when he was known as a serious character actor. Imagine if he were cast as a villain in a Bond film now. I'm not saying he wouldn't act his ass off, but initially, it'd be jarring to see him on screen.

Walken was in his prime back then, so it was well suited. Walken is still great now (7 Psychopaths) but we love more for his quirkiness and legacy.

I don't know why I do it, sometimes...

Sean Bean, Javier Bardem, and Sir. Christopher Lee also made great Bond villains. It's not like established stars CAN'T do it successfully. For instance, I'd love to see someone like Patrick Stewart, or Timothy Olyphant to appear in a Bond film.

Patrick Stewart in a villainous role would be an interesting inversion.

Damn.

mads mikkelsen was a great bond villain. I think Anthony Hopkins can knock that role out of the ballpark.

They originally wanted him for 006, thank god he said no and they got Sean Bean to dominate the role.

Patrick Stewart in a villainous role would be an interesting inversion.

He has played villainous roles before - eg Conspiracy Theory with Mel Gibson.

But Stewart would bring more of a seriousness to a character like Blofeld.

Saw Moonraker today. Awful movie.

Did you like the awful Asian henchman? haha

It's so weird that, it went from Oddjob, who's a very cool Asian baddie to this uninspired manservant with a handlebar mustache.

I'd be nice to see Hopkins not phone it in like he does in almost all of his roles nowadays.
