James Bond Ultimate Edition Dvd's....

I bet it's gonna be around £200.00.

wow, im really glad i only have 4 bond flicks
im definately dropping the cash for this

We'll see if they deliver the goods. They have sooooo much $hit in the archives they could release 3 disc DVD sets for each film. As long as I get to see Pierce Brosnan's original gunbarrel scene and Sean Connery's gunbarrel scene w/o the hat, I'll be happy...

I'm really looking forward to this new collection. I only have the Bond movies on VHS now because I heard about this new collection when they announced Casino Roayale a while ago.

I just hope the movies will be uncensored, unlike the DVD's that are out now where GoldenEye and a few others have had cuts (atleast the UK ones)-

Do we know if they will be available individually? If they are, I will keep my fingers crossed for a version to Licence to Kill with the flame stunt back in in entirity!......

Yeah, I'm not interested at all if there's no individual releases. Of course, it's a moot point if there's no US release.

they are going to be released seperatly in the uk.no mention of anything in the USA yet for cover designs or release date or anything

I noticed the blurb on Commander Bond about GoldenEye and License to Kill possibly getting uncut editions. Are the uncut versions really that different from the theatrical releases?

Well, the UK has stricter censorship in terms of violence. I believe you can't show head butts, stuff like that. I'm sure the uncut versions are just the US releases.

Oh okay. I might only pick up the Bond films I don't already have then...once again assuming that the US gets this release.

ideal for anyone whos in transit of droping there vhs collection, as they got some lovely features and sound/video quality etc
but come on how many releases are there gonna be of 1 movie
i was mortified when they brought out the 4 dvd version of the frighteners
and then a sin city recut. so as much as id love to get these ones. i aint gonna be getting any more dvds sp editions for a while.
i had to laugh theres ever another version of star wars due out.
:)

The Roger Moore commentaries alone might sell it for me!!!

I hope they get as many commentaries as they can...Timothy Dalton, etc...

Unfortunately it looks like Brosnan's & co. have burned bridges for the time being.

And I'm sure Connery's not in the least bit interested in 're-treading' Bond-mania...:(

Jeezus, more overpriced box sets? When are they just going to do individuals releases again?

I love the new Bond Films USE DVDs - they are great stuff if you're big 007 fan.

I've already bought a solid number of 007 flicks on DVD and a few on VHS. When they re-release them it ticks me off. lol

The R1 DVD covers are atrocious. But not as bad as the Superman R1 DVD Covers. Those covers make Bond look like Da Vinci artwork.

B000FIKU7K.01._SS500_SCLZZZZZZZ_V51608592_.jpg

Dr No - not too bad because of the relative simplicity compared to the other covers. The Dr No logo is terrible and makes this look like a fan cover. 2/5

B000FIKUAM.01._SS500_SCLZZZZZZZ_V51608592_.jpg

FRWL - not bad at all really, proberbaly the best one. But still, could be so much better. 3/5

B000FIKUEI.01._SS500_SCLZZZZZZZ_V51608592_.jpg

Goldfinger - awful. Terrible shot of Connery, looks heavily airbrushed, and doesn't go with the backing shot of the golden girl. 1/5

B000FIKX90.01._SS500_SCLZZZZZZZ_V52763239_.jpg

Thunderball - is this a joke? 1/5

B000FIKWXM.01._SS500_SCLZZZZZZZ_V51608592_.jpg

YOLT - Better. 2/5

B000FIKX0Y.01._SS500_SCLZZZZZZZ_V51608592_.jpg

OHMSS - Lazenby looks like a painting and the title obscures too much of the 007 logo. Amateur. 2/5

B000FIGGC8.01._SS500_SCLZZZZZZZ_V51946533_.jpg

DAF - Not too bad. The DAF logo screams laziness. 2/5

B000FIKUJS.01._SS500_SCLZZZZZZZ_V52763239_.jpg

LALD - One of the better ones. Effort has gone into the logo but it still looks like an 1980's action movie. 3/5

B000FIF6WO.01._SS500_SCLZZZZZZZ_V51608592_.jpg

TMWTGG - Good layout of the main pic, but it looks like a video game version of Moore and not the real thing. 2/5

B000FIKX22.01._SS500_SCLZZZZZZZ_V52763237_.jpg

TSWLM - You can tell these were rushed covers. Moore looks like he's been shrunk to the size of a 14 year old boy. Just lazy. 2/5

B000FIKVVA.01._SS500_SCLZZZZZZZ_V51608592_.jpg

Moonraker - Not bad, I suppose. 2/5

B000FIGHM2.01._SS500_SCLZZZZZZZ_V52763237_.jpg

FYEO - No! The whole point of the woman's legs is that we see Bond in between them, it's suggestive and it's dramatic. Parking a car infront of her - not even a good shot! - is just woefully bad. What, she takes her crossbow with her whenever she drives somewhere? 1/5

B000FIKWQY.01._SS500_SCLZZZZZZZ_V52763239_.jpg

Octopussy - One of the better ones, the main pic is not too cluttered and the logo is good. 3/5

B000FIKX54.01._SS500_SCLZZZZZZZ_V52763237_.jpg

AVTAK - Not too bad, doesn't look very exciting though, does it? 2/5

B000FIF6W4.01._SS500_SCLZZZZZZZ_V52763243_.jpg

TLD - Not bad, Dalton is too airbrushed looking. 2/5

Now look at the previous TLD DVD...

B000056IFF.02._SS500_SCLZZZZZZZ_V1131714376_.jpg

Now THAT is a DVD cover.

B000FIKUGQ.01._SS500_SCLZZZZZZZ_V51946516_.jpg

LTK - Looks like Dalton's head has been in a vice. Look how small his mouth is. Why have the two women on the front? Just have one and make her bigger. 2/5

B000FIF5KC.01._SS500_SCLZZZZZZZ_V51608592_.jpg

GoldenEye - One of the best. Good shot of Brosnan, action, good logo. 3/5

B000FIKXB8.01._SS500_SCLZZZZZZZ_V52763239_.jpg

TND - Just no. Cluttered. Colours too washed out. Most of this cover is grey, white and blue. 2/5

B000FIKX1S.01._SS500_SCLZZZZZZZ_V51946520_.jpg

TWINE - Less messy than TND but the colours comment still aplies. 2/5

B000FIKU7A.01._SS500_SCLZZZZZZZ_V52763237_.jpg

DAD - That's just a crap DVD cover. Awful. Wasting space in the middle with sea and sky, and cluttering up the edges with photos is just bad design. 1/5

B00006FMGI.02._SS500_SCLZZZZZZZ_V1072808138_.jpg

This is a FAR better cover.

To sum up, this is quite the worst bunch of DVD covers I have ever set eyes on. They're a total bloody shambles. The grey and white photos are ugly, and the top of the boxes have the name on the film on top of the 007 logo ontop of the photos! That's just waaaaaaaaay too mcuh, too cluttered. The pictures of the Bond actors are almost all badly chosen, over-manipulated, and none are very flattering.

Do MGM WANT people to buy these DVDs?
