James Bond Ultimate Edition Dvd's....

Well, I finally have my favorite Bond movie on DVD... I bought Volume Two (Thunderball, The Spy Who Loved Me, A View To A Kill, License To Kill, and Die Another Day) tonight. TSWLM looks freaking AMAZING. Considering I only had a grainy VHS copy before, I'm ecstatic about having it on remastered DVD :)

They're doing the buy 1 get 1 free offer in which I collected my last 4 yesterday. I now have every Bond movie on dvd, yay for me!

Which ones have the best extras IYO?

Why don't you spend on all 20 007 movies and you get a case with it? That's what I would've done.

I dunno......it just kinda feels like they always come out with new versions of these...I'm so hesitant to drop the dough down.

so when are the next volumes scheduled for release.. I'm mainly waiting for Live and Let Die..

Volumes 3 and 4 are coming out December 12th

In what ways are the volumes divided?

That is...is there a Brosnan volume? Or a Connery Volume....or are they just divided randomly?

I'm not sure. To be honest my interest in buying the 4 dvds were to just complete my colection of all 20 Bond movies but I'll check them (extras) out though.

In the UK, all the films are avaliable seperately as 2-disc sets, and right now the 'Buy Bond, get Bond free' offer means you can grab two for about £14. :D

i bought the two box sets tonight, and popped in "Man with the Golden GUn", it might be because I'm tired but it's reallllly slow but at the same time it's really cool. I need to watch Living Daylights my favorite bond film...

I'm so jealous. I desperately want individual discs.

got my vol. 1 The living daylights looks great. I don't know if my sound system was low or something but it didn't sound as "epic" as my recent amazon.com purchase of special edition "goldeneye" now that was "booming"

alot of features to watch

I purchased all the previous DVD collection (the ones that, put together, read '007' across the spines) except OHMSS. Now I am wondering whether to buy the old OHMSS to complete the collection, or pick up the new version and get annother one (FYEO or Goldfinger) with it. Hmmmm.....

Here in Canada, the original James Bond 007 Special Edition DVD's are ridiculously priced anywhere from $34.99 - $44.99. Even though they are considered out of print, with the advent of the new Ultimate Edition DVD's, I would have thought they would have been of lesser value.

Well, you know, over here in Britain every man, woman and child should be issued with a complete set of the DVDs as a guide on how to be British. :)

Kev, after all this time I had no idea you were British.

England prevails.

Bah! (In truest Doctor Doom style delivery)

I'd come close to completing the same collection but now this new collection has come out, obviously, all the old versions have been pulled from sale (HMV, Virgin, Play.com, Amazon etc)

I know it makes sense, business wise, but still. I mean, You see old dvd editions of films on sale next to the 'brand spanking new special editions' all the time. Why must Bond be different?!

I cant' be bothered verifying my bank details with ebay (as i'd reached that £500 unverified limit) because it was a pain in the arse and thats the only place i've seen them still up for grabs.

Seems i'll never have that 007 complete spine. :csad:

Are there ANY PLANS to release them seperately as I only want to buy three or four others and not have to buy a bunch I don't want.

The Bond boxes are one of the most cynical pieces of marketing I've seen. Oh no, you can't buy one Bond movie, you have to buy five at once. And the way they are collected in each box borders on completely random. If I wanted to deliberately annoy US Bond fans, that's what I'd do.

As of now, there are no plans to release them separately in the US. I'm waiting to see if after Christmas that changes.

It irritates me. Britain gets them separate, as well as unique box sets for the Connery, Moore, and Brosnan eras.
