What causes one to become a media frenzy, and the other to be largely ignored? Where are all the movements to speak out on these boys behalf? Why aren't any of these sexual abuse activists making this a regular talking point?

You said the media didn't care. If the media didn't care, they wouldn't report on it. They report on it when people are arrested and/or convicted. How many male teachers were changed and convicted of raping underage male or female students? How many were national news? You keep on saying things that are factually wrong, and then start arguing something else, searching for a way to be right. Its so weird.

You know what is amazing about this? You somehow switched from whether the victim was a boy or a girl, to whether the perpetrator is male or female. Why? And on those shows, they included potential male and female victims. So they saw trying to rape a teenage boy the same as trying to rape a teenage girl.

So again, you are wrong. Oh and by the way #MeToo includes men. Just look at Terry Crews and Brendan Fraser.

Wasn't your point that it'd be a bigger issue to some if he was making these jokes about little girls? Why is it now that we don't pay enough attention to female teachers abusing boys? What does that have to do with James Gunn? What is your argument here?

The situation with Bautista is now reminding me a lot of the Margo Kidder and Gene Hackman Superman 2 protest with the Salkinds over Donner's firing.

I agree with the idea that it sounds like he wants to get canned by the mouse , though Disney probably won't make it that easy for him, and may let him to break his contract so they can come down on him like a ton of bricks.


I don't think Iger, Horn or even Feige gonna take ultimatums at this point, but yeah, Bautista is backing up his word .

I think the only one they absolutely need is Pratt. He's the star. Rocket is big too, but that's just a voice-over role. As long as they have Pratt, they should go forward with GOTG3. If Pratt walked there would be issues, but even then they could probably do a Rocket & Groot movie and be successful.

Disney made a business decision. They certainly made it quickly and in a knee jerk fashion , but it had nothing to do with rushing to judgment about Gunn's character. They could care less about that.

They want people to believe it was about morality, but it was mostly about trying to protect themselves .

Bautista isn't the first actor or performer in Hollywood to fight their boss, but its certainly a big deal. That said, I'm skeptical what Bautista it will cause Disney to change its nature or its mind .

No, keeping it in the public eye makes it worse for Disney, which puts more pressure on them to rehire him. At least that was the sound strategy last week, but Disney didn't budge. He/the cast lost. Now he is burning a bridge. You're right, it won't get Gunn back. But after last week's stunt didn't apparently move the needle, I think he's accepted that's the case. My guess is Feige or someone at Marvel said they're already talking to replacements, so he went out and said this on Twitter.

I’m proud of being from there and I want to do good business with them, but they just don’t make it easy. You know, they just don’t.”

He also claims he was talking to them about being Ronda Rousey's partner at Wrestlemania, but they backstabbed him by choosing Kurt Angle instead and then cut off all contact with him.

We don’t know what the other Guardians are thinking. If they feel the same way as Bautista then Vol. 3 is in all sorts of trouble.

In that case, I could actually see Disney just cancelling GOTG 3 and moving forward with their other properties instead. That would mean the last appearance of the cast would be IW part 2.
