Stop this nonsense already.

It's like saying Joss Whedon is the Avengers.

I would say Gunn's directorial fingerprint on the GotG is stronger than any other MCU director, so Gunn sort of is GotG.

And then Joss "left" and the Russos made two much better Avengers movies in Civil War and Infinity War. :hehe:

Debatable, but that's not really a debate for this thread, LOL! The Avengers still stands as my favorite MCU film.

Try again? I re-copied it and it's working for me unless this is a "different regions" thing?

Disney and MARVEL stand by the decision. Feige couldn't be bothered to come back from vacation to talk about it (aka getting out of dodge to avoid the blame). Reports he backed the decision.

I sense a feeling of resignation from alot of the geek pundits and fans who were angrily railing against Disney over their decision just a couple of weeks ago.

They may not be like Disney's final call, and they may not like how it happened, but it does seem like there's finally a feeling of acceptance from the fan community overall that the Disney won't change their minds and fight is over.

Sure, there are probably fans out their who won't accept how this whole thing played out, but it seems as if there's a sense, from the geek pundits at least, that its time to move forward.

I got "Video unavailable" too.

The link looks wrong. Are you sure there are 3 dots after hiDA?

I even think Disney preemptively asked him to not publicly pick a side. He's super popular among geeks and as we've seen if he supports the decision publicly he will loose that popular status soon.

@ DACrowe: I see, the ... stays the same in quote so the link is broken when I clicked on the post 2kt09 quoted from you.

Video is here.

Heh, well it might be a regions thing because it's working for me (the... is for your sake the full link is in side). But the one in my previous post, which I re-copied, is working for me.

Anyway, it's James Gunn's exact dance that they copied and used to animate Groot's dance. It's on YouTube, you can search for it if the link doesn't work. My point is Gunn is so much apart of it that the dance everyone loves Groot doing is literally Gunn, move for move. It is his personality embedded into the very heart of the movies, and how Vol. 2 is introduced in this case.

It's all jumbled up. Too complicated with too many equal signs for a youtube url and an "&" is to usually denote either a playlist or timestamp

Ha, there it is!

I think Darth and I have the same feeling on Feige. Dude got out of town to avoid any blame or responsibility for this. He's keeping a layer of separation here.

I’d phrase it more like Feige is declining to unhoist Horn from his own petard. But yeah, either way Horn owns GotG3 now and if anything goes wrong, it’s on him.

Feige knew he wasn't gonna win the fight regardless, so there was no reason for him to really battle Horn tooth and nail on it regardless of how many fans wanted him to.

With Iger and Horn pretty much in agreement , the deck was stacked against him even with the backing of the cast , the media, and the fan community.

He's in this thing for the long haul, and he knows fan outrage comes and goes.

But crossing powerful people in Hollywood, especially when they're you're boss, can make things tough in the future.

Ugh Guardians will survive without Gunn, and without original members of the cast, if they choose to take that route. It was designed to be interchangeable, like all Marvel movies. After Vol 2 I can't say I'm disappointed, and this is from someone who really enjoyed the first one.

Sometimes in life you have to pick your battles.

I get Feige not getting involved, he has his own career to think about.

I think Feige knew it was a losing battle trying to get Gunn rehired. Besides Feige seems to have a good relationship with Disney and there's no point in messing that up as he seems to want to continue producing for many more years to come (especially as Disney have the rights to X-Men and F4). Even though James Gunn will be missed, the Guardians will have survive without him and I think Disney will be willing to recast the characters if one of the actors decides to call it quits.

Well if you go on Twitter, Dave Bautista doesn't want this story to die. He's now saying Disney wants to "make America Great Again."

Someone doesn't want to be in Guardians 3.

Beyond that he is pushing the political position that anyone working on the movie would be supporting a hit job political payback for Roseanne who was allowed zero tolerance presumably because she had a pro President Trump public position.

Thus any actor or director taking the chance of assuming the role in Vol. III would be seen as pro President Trump with the possibility of career threatening prejudices being attached to them.

Dave Bautista being an idiot isn't exactly news, but this is getting pretty hilarious. He is doing what he is accusing others of doing. :funny:

Making America great again?

(Or standing by a friend who got railroaded by a hypocritical company.)

Taking things clearly out of context. The idea that Disney is pro-Trump is so obviously BS. :funny:

But if we want to get into hypocrisy, Big Dave's favorite boss was/is Vince McMahon who is a Trump supporter and good friend. And yet somehow, he still keeps calling the WWE asking if he can have one last run. Interesting...

I do declare, I do not agree with your opinion, but your choice of gifts is exquisite, my good sir.

Batista is gonna keep it up until he gets replaced.

*Soap Opera Announcer Voice*
The role of Drax will now be played by Randy Orton

I do not begrudge Bautista his sound and fury. I understand he is angry, and that is fair. What I do not like is his leaps in logic to satisfy it, especially as his own history doesn't speak well on logic he long jumps to. To me when he does this, he comes off... well dumb. I get he is trying to defend his friend, but plenty of others are doing the same without making themselves look silly. And one look into Bautista, and what he is saying now is extremely silly.

Bautista is making this the hill he dies on; he doesn’t care if he’s fired or not, and if he is indeed fired it will backfire on Disney because other actors will now feel awkward if they decided to stay on GOTG 3.
