Very, very unexpected. Stunning actually. If this pans out, we'll just have to see. I'm curious as all get out about Foxx playing Electro.

i dont know if it really suggest that. I saw it as if jamie was subtly letting the cat out of the bag..

Yeah probably this!

Variety said it wasn't confirmed to be Electro right? At least the tweet confirms that :P

Don't care for this at all. I've never really liked him and have a feeling he's going to play it way over the top.

Mmmhm. Kinda outta left field. Not really excited about the news but eh. If it happens, we'll just have to wait and see.

Wow, I'm not against it... but this is some shocking news. :awesome:

I've never been a Jamie Foxx fan. That's not to say I dislike him, it's just I've never been very impressed with any of his roles I've seen him in.

Electro is an interesting choice but I cannot imagine how he will be a strong enough character to carry the movie as the solo villain. Assuming he is the solo villain.

Well...I'm definitely not against this...Foxx is an amazing actor (his hometown is 30 minutes down the road from where i live so theres alot of his family around here)
Been keeping up with him for as long as I can remember and I have faith in this casting decision

I've never been a Jamie Foxx fan but he has talent and I love that they're not reusing villains from the first trilogy. If anything it'll be a visual spectacle

I like Foxx as an actor, he was great in Ray (where he acted like a hateful prick sometimes, so I can see him as a villain), but I was certainly expecting someone younger. I just picture Electro as someone young. Maybe the Spectacular series did that to my head. Or the Ultimate comics.

Oh well. At least we have a good actor in the role and he seems excited. That's a good start.

I've not liked one casting for the sequel yet.

Woodley is truly awful on Secret Life. I'm just suspecting she got lucky on The Descendants.

Foxx is hit and miss.

Kinda becoming disappointed with this thing before it even really starts.

I'm extremely happy Electro isn't too young. I can't take young villains seriously.

For someone who doesn't know much about the Ultimate version (which Webb & Co seems to take most inspiration from if judging by the looks): What are the differences between the Amazing and Ultimate versions of him?

As far as I could read, we don't know the origin of his powers in Ultimate. Spidey asked him, but he didn't want to answer. That's basically it. They're basically the same regarding the personality.

Oh yeah. He can turn into Hyper-Electro. I mean, his entire body covered in eletricity. I don't remember seeing 616 Electro doing that.

Jamie Foxx is a good actor. This just doesn't excite me for some reason. I guess we'll see how Jamie plays it. Assuming this news is actually confirmed.

I read at some other place that it's a very overdone thing to make the black guy have electric powers. I haven't noticed that before but do you guys recognise that? If that is the case, I might like this choice a little bit less. Why? Because that would be like making every asian character a martial artist master. I hope Sony didn't do it because glowing eyes and electricity look cooler with black skin, but because of his acting talent.

you and this race thing lol. As long as jamie ain't heating up some fried chicken with his electric powers, then we are in the clear.

The only other two I can think of are Static Shock and Black Lightning (real subtle name :o).

Welp, that's a terrible casting decision.

Hype for TASM2 diminishing.

Sure but I've only mentioned that twice now and was just asking if that's true or not. As I said, I really like this choice!

I hope they don't have Electro be a typical thug for hire kind of villain. I want him to have real personality, depth and eventually an own agenda.

God must seriously be pranking me.

I mean, Jamie Foxx is my least favorite black actor working today (outside of Tyrese).

Two of my most anticipated films for the next year and a half, Django and ASM2, and who do they cast?

The buck toothed, cross eyed Jamie Foxx yet again wasting what could've been a classic black character.

I guess a Blade reboot starring Jamie Fox is inevitable.
