Jason Bourne

No, it really doesn't. It'd be a boring rehash of what we've already seen. And if you're only idea for "emotional weight" is killing characters off, then there may be a problem with your writing style.

Also given that we've been given no hints that Joan Allen being in this movie either, it comes across as "well we've got the new young hip actress, so lets just dispose of the old one because God forbid we have more than one prominent female character or anything."

Boring, predictable, uninspired, not interested. Oh and Marvolo, if you have to resort to insulted people, then you're argument was never very solid to begin with. Disagreeing with a potential plot-point doesn't make people "drama queens," it's that simple.

I do think that Landy's continued a sense is the biggest issue; she was integral to Supremacy and Ultimatum, and there really should be some focus on the fallout of her helping Bourne, and not just some quick lip service to the CIA somehow burying her under all the info she released.

You can only watch Jason Bourne fight back against the CIA so many times. At least, Legacy tried to be different by going in another direction with the sci-fi element.

i don't consider using what amounted to steroids to enhance the physical abilities of its subjects as science fiction.

Legacy was trash and it's "new" addition to the franchise was terrible. Bourne isn't a Superhero franchise.

These things make money, so hey. They're like the closest thing to an American Bond franchise. Bourne is a lot more angsty though. They knew they ****ed up with Renner.

I want to see Renner and Damon team up. I want that film. My hopes is this film takes us to that film. It has Tommy Lee Jones in it though, so I am weirdly oddly very excited to see that; it feels like he hasn't been in this kind of film in a long time.

You just keep hoping for that film.

The difference with that is, there were more than 8 people worldwide who wanted to see more of Spider-Man on film.

Everyone wants to see more of Spider-Man on film. The question there was did a select group of people want to share the character.

And 8 people worldwide? Really? 276 mil begs to differ, unless ticket prices were really, really expensive to go see it.

Hey you might hate it, but the fact is - it made a profit. And the bottom line is - depending on box office growth and if they see potential earnings from it happening, it has a chance of happening sooner rather than later. Especially with studios jumping on the cinematic universe express train.

As said, in a world where.... I've learned to never say never.

No need to give Renner more franchises. How many is he part of? Marvel, Mission Impossible and he had Bourne. So at one time he was part of 3 franchise on the go.

It wouldn't be giving Renner another franchise. There's still word about the Legacy sequel in the future. It would simply be a cross-over film. Either Matt going into a Legacy film. Renner going into a Bourne film. Think Captain America: Civil War and Iron Man. Or a film that is separate from both entries.

Oh I get what you meant and so he'd be back to being part of 3 franchises. A man can get by on one franchise and many do. Also no one really gives a damn about his Bourne movie, Lets' be honest here. Its' why they brought back Damon and Greengrass.

He could easily do all 3, since he's a rather small role in 2 of them. If it was up to either Jason or Aaron - it would be Jason. On the other hand, if I can get both if even just in one film - I'd want both. Plus, the earliest word was bridging the two. I'd like to see what those plans were.

Those early plans were rumours before Damon came back. A "What If" so to speak. Those plans were torn up as soon as Damon came back and if this movie is a hit I see Universal just proceeding with more Bourne /Damon movies.

Thought those plans were when Damon had signed on already with little word as to how they were going to do it until months to a year later...

And I see them expanding in a cinematic universe direction since that's the "in" thing to do. I don't see how they could lose any money, only potentially gain. That's the beauty of individualism - everyone thinks differently (should note, not specifically targeted - just a mass statement).

Chances are that this upcoming installment could be the start of a new trilogy.
By the time that is done, no one is going to be interested in seeing Aaron Cross again.

I hope not. I love this series (except Legacy) but I'm kind of hoping that this new film is Damon and Greengrass' swansong and the give us a proper ending to Damon's Bourne. I don't need another trilogy of films and I highly doubt Damon and Greengrass want to do another trilogy either. It wasn't long ago where both of them vehemently were against coming back to do another installment. MY guess is Greengrass came up with one last story he wanted to tell.....and Universal added a zero to his paycheck.

If you read that post you would have noticed that I called the people *****ing about Vikander in the marketing drama queens. (Anyone doing such a thing would in fact be a drama queen.) But I didn't call anyone upset about that possible plot point a drama queen.

Legacy is a boring Hawkeye origin film masquerading as a Bourne film.
