Jason Momoa is Aquaman! - Part 6

I mean it would make sense given his origins and what not but also the brotherly dynamic between Aquaman and Orm especially if it is similar to Thor and Loki

This is how Momoa described Arthur.
“The guy was never really accepted on land, and he was never really accepted in Atlantis. He’s a half-breed. But he’s the best of both worlds. He just doesn’t know how to handle his powers. So it’s kind of a coming of age for a young man to a man, or a man to a king. He’s lost a lot of things and he’s got to cope. He’s an outsider.”

Thor wasn't really an outsider in his movies and I don't think Orm and Arthur will have a friendly brother relationship like Thor and Loki early in the first Thor movie. Arthur was raised outside of Atlantis by his father Thomas Curry, while Orm has been living in Atlantis his whole life and has probably been raised for the throne.

If anything, Loki was more the outsider since he always felt different, and then he got the reveal of his true origin.

Ha, he's got the thongs on already. Practically an Aussie already :P

Not sure if it's been brought up but child actor Otis Jai Dhanji is playing younger Arthur Curry in Aquaman. Excellent likeness to Jason Momoa. As always, in the DCEU, the younger version of a character is cast perfectly.

Yes he could definitely pass for Jason Momoa in a younger capacity but then with Arthur being raised by his father on land then I wonder if we will see Nicole Kidman's character of Atlanna in flashback sequence and if we do will it be a CGI version of Nicole Kidman in a younger capacity like think what Marvel did with RDJ or what Marvel did just recently with Kurt Russell's character in flashback

So far we've got young versions of Diana, Clark, Bruce and Arthur and all Leaguers' parents except for Elinore Stone and Nora Allen. Can't help but think that DC is very family-oriented.

I suppose that's normal really. Childhood is such an important time for defining who we grow into.

So far this makes me think of Moana which is not a bad thing

I wonder how they will explain where he got the trident from? Someone said in the Wonder Woman movie there's a blink and you'll miss it moment where Poseidon drops his trident so maybe Arthur finds it. I didn't see that in WW though.

Clearly it's going to be a major feature in the story and his combat

Now that Momoa is finished with his JL reshoots, he can start working on AQUAMAN again.

Keepsake from mamma.

:cwink:

I hope so! We've seen tons of father son moments and because of Wonder Woman we've seen mother daughter relationships but we haven't seen a proper daughter son moment yet

iZombie's Robert Buckley...

Robert Buckley?
@robertbuckley

Meeting @RahulKohli13's man crush was every bit as cool as I hoped it would be.

Both of them are so hawt. Coincidentally for a long time Robert Buckley was my favourite choice to play captain America way before Evans got cast

That's beautiful! I almost wonder if it's legit?

Almost certainly not.

Gosh he's just perfect casting. The surfer king. Makes it seem like he's playing the Aquaman we should have always had. I reckon he would have been more popular and less of a joke if he had been played like this before

love that bit in the trailer where he rides the demon impaled on his trident down through the building and then walks it off like it was nothing, that was beyond Bad***

i feel like momoa is gonna steal the movie

Momoa was so funny during the panel, telling the little boy the truth about Superman. Then really cool that he gave up the Ocean Master info:

This is so much better than I could have expected on Aquaman. So happy they got Momoa.
