There's something I've been meaning to say since the first JL trailer dropped way back when, but now that I've seen the Heroes Trailer...

Momoa doesn't really look like he's gonna impress me as Aquaman. I'm still relatively new to the Aquaman character, my familiarity with him stemming from DC: Rebirth. That Aquaman I like, a guy who is diplomatic, intelligent, and level-headed and...well, clean cut :P

I feel like WB were so hell-bent on breaking away from the "dumb fish talker" image of Aquaman, they deliberately chose a guy who, while a decent enough actor, looks like a barbarian. That isn't Aquaman to the best of my knowledge (though someone else feel free to correct me), and when I saw that Heroes trailer, ugh...

"MAH MAN!!!"; *lands on Batmobile (somehow, out of freaking nowhere)* "YEAH!"

I...wat? I know this all moot at this point, but I just wanted to say it out loud.

You are not alone. DC let all The years of aqua jokes get in their collective heads. They didn’t stop to think that this hero has been in print since 1941 and is more well known than his Marvel counterpart. He’s always been on tv since the 60s. Even had his own show. As carried a comic title More consistently than Namor.
So they felt that they had to alter him this drastically. Foolish move. Shoulda taken questions from AntMan. He’s The Marvel version of Aquaman. They didn’t change a thing except his identity. And he talks to ants. Trust your product

Pretty sure the point of the "rough around the edges" Aquaman is going to be that he has to grow into the hero, ruler and diplomat. They hinted at it in JUSTICE LEAGUE.

Yeah with Arthur being rough around the edges makes him not only a badass but a badass you can't help but get behind

I was disappointed that they didn't go in depth more with Arthur's character in JL but i'm sure Aquaman will address my concerns.

I'm definitely going, just debating for how long and how much cash to bring for an autograph or photo.

The guest list for this year's Denver Comic Con is pretty decent but not as good as last year's, where I got to meet all of the DCAU/JL voice actors along with Nathan Fillion—that was definitely the highlight for me!

LOL. You prolly shouldn't be drinking coffee anyway.

When they first announced casting Jason, I was very skeptical (to say the least). After JL, I was more hopeful. I saw the preview Friday when I went to see MI Fallout and it made me even more hopeful.

So, now I have this to look forward to. I'm pretty psyched about it and like the character arc I saw.

I actually hope if there is a sequel that he dons a style like that. Good for merch. New figures etc. Keep the beard though. Not enough super heroes rocking the facial hair like Tony Stark or Ollie Queen.
