The Avengers Jeremy Renner is Hawkeye! - Part 1

Renner was pretty fantastic in The Town back in '10.

I still love his "There goes college soccah!" and "Here, take this one, he's a real Gem!"

But my favorite acting part he did was in 12 and Holding, he's drunk as hell, and see's his little friend in his apartment, and then when she lets him know she has a crush on him, the look on his face is priceless.

And also, all this talk about oscars, well, if oscar nominations are any "proof" to ones talent, then I guess Jeremy Renner has nothing to prove too, since he has two noms himself.

To the people asking about Hawkeyes screen time he has a fair amount (not enough IMO) I love renner and the character is perfect for him. However when he is on screen its def memorable.

Just wanted to say I think Hawkeye fans will be satisfied.
He had more time than I thought he would and what he did was so cool.
I loved his hand to hand fighting style.
Looking forward to seeing some more of him.

From the interviews regarding his screentime and such Renner probably said it the best himself. the movie is called Avengers, not Hawkeye, so it can't focus on him for too much longer than it could each and every other character. and the other ones are more popular than he is, while with each of them coming from movies of their own already. So they have more time on screen than he will.

I get what he's saying, because I've written stories that involved numerous characters and its like, you start to focus on the ones who play a bigger part to he story than the ones you know are just sort of there. sometimes you even just write lines for them to say to give them something to say or do just so they don't seem to be background characters.

having that said, though, Hawkeye is my personal favorite out of the whole bunch and getting Renner to play him who I've been a fan of since I was a kid (i grew up with the movie Senior Trip xD) the more of him they show, the better. I hope he has some more time with the deleted scenes Whedon spoke of recently. I know his schedule is going to be crazy because he's getting so many movies to do, but I really do hope he gets the chance to play Hawkeye again in upcoming projects. Maybe if not his own hawkeye film, he could do cameos in the others. Or possibly play a role in the proposed Black Widow movie (I think if they did that movie as a prequel, it would work out really cool.) Definitely hope to see him return for Avengers 2. Build up what he needs to earn his own titled film.

Someone post all the Jeremy Renner or Hawkeye gifs you have

So, those who have seen The Avengers, and are Jeremy Renner fans, how do you stack up his Hawkeye character compared to his more infamous roles as William James, Jem, Dahmer and Gus?

Can't wait to see Hawkeye, he's actually the character that I'm looking forward to the most.

He was at first, but now he's tied with Tom Hiddleston's Loki (who I keep hearing is one of the best villains on screen in a loooooooonnnnnnggggg time)

But, technically speaking, I'm going in as a Captain America fan. But to be honest, this movie does not have a bad cast member, at all.

I won't mind a solo Hawkeye movie starring Renner, but I think the character will have to get more exposures and more recognitions first for that to happen, because he has always been identified as a part of the Avengers and not as a lone superhero. It is more likely that Marvel would put him and BW together in a SHIELD movie with Nick Fury than making a Hawkeye or BW movie.

I have to praise Renner for his performance in this film. Renner's Hawkeye is more bad ass than his comic book counterpart. A man of few words, he prefers being alone, and the only woman in the team prefers to spend time with him. He is efficient, and would kill Legolas and Robin Hood in a battle. He doesn't even look at his targets when shooting an arrow. How awesome is that. His trick arrows are awesome, and so are his close combat skills. His limited screen time and dialogue help him become more enigmatic and mysterious. Clint Eastwood's Man with No Name, Steve McQueen's Frank Bullitt, and Ryan Gosling's Driver would love Hawkeye.

Hawkeye was one of my favorite watching the movie!

But I doubt he will get his own movie :( But I'm looking forward to see him in Avengers 2!

not a lot of people talk about it but

I like the part where he's in a jet, before attacking the helicarrier, then he shoots the arrow way to the left and lets the wind direct it to a certain target

I also liked it when he hit one of the Aliens without looking.

I love the fact that Hawkeye is his own man. And I guess ut's safe to say: he is the best cinematic archer in history.

Renner was as good as I hoped he'd be. (And I hoped he'd be awesome).

I'd like a Widow/Hawkeye movie tomorrow please.

A prequel would be nice. The story of how Widow and Clint met sounds interesting. Why didnt Clint assassinate Natasha?

I personally thought he got sufficient screentime for his character
even though like half of it was spent being mind controlled
.

I certainly would love a Hawkeye/Black Widow movie also. And it shouldn't even be big budget to work.
