The Avengers Jeremy Renner is Hawkeye! - Part 1

Who would have thought that we'd see Jeremy play Hawkeye again in SNL before Avengers 2.haha

Considering Avengers 2 wont premiere for a few years and Renner was hosting SNL, it was pretty much a given they'd do a spoof of the biggest film he just starred in

The Avengers skit was funny.

I also enjoyed the commentary in the Robot Chicken skit about how we now objectify men as well as women in comic book films.

Got it all on the puter for later. Got a few things to do today willl watch it later lol

That parody was brilliant. There have been a lot of fan comments about the Widow being "lame" and not deserving to be on the team, but fewer about Hawkeye. How many times has someone asked, "Why is the Black Widow even on the team?" Robot Chicken picked up on that and played with it. (Renner does have a great ass, though. :word:)

I am so rooting on Avengers 2/ CA2 to see more Hawkeye :woot:

Me too, Hawkingbird.

I get a little put out seeing all this stuff talking about how Hawkeye and Black Widow were useless and shouldn't be part of the team. For me, the fact that they're both normal humans who are just wickedly skilled and willing to jump right in there with the big boys made them my favourites. They held their own, and in the end it was Natasha that closed the portal. I feel like I watched a completely different film than the people that say they're useless because they both totally kicked ass.

Marvel movie universe has this whole James Bond/Patriot Games Espionage world they could explore with characters like Hawkeye and Black Widow. The Hawkeye comics showed (with the Tape storyline) a small part of that world they could use. Hawkeye, Black Widow, Young Nick Fury: Agent of SHIELD (a prequel or sorts that fills in gaps between Cap 1 and Iron Man 1), SHIELD TV show, Winter Soldier, and Spider-Woman (triple agent working for shield against Hydra for Hydra agents shield for shield).

They have this whole world of SHIELD and agents and assassins and secret agencies and terrorists and super powered agents they could delve into. A world kept secret from even Thor and Iron Man.

There's a new Secret Avengers book coming out with Hawkeye, BW, Mockingbird, Winter Soldier, Young Fury and Iron Patriot. Funny enough the first issue opens up in Budapest. So Marvel is definitely playing out the whole "spy thriller" concept in the comics. Would love to see it though in live action with Renner, etc.

I doubt we will ever see a Secret Avengers film, but it's a nice idea. Maybe they'll use it on the series.

They really need him to wear those goggles or at least a mask in Avengers 2. Just to make him look "cooler".

he would have made a better Scott Lang than Clint Barton, imo.

Glad to see that news Vartha as I only found earlier tonight that Renner might not be back.

Still, I'd like to hear it from Renner. lol
