That would be great, as Renner is fast becoming an A-list actor. But how about Black Widow? I think a sexy super agent could be made into a good movie, given the right script, budget, and director.

I think a Black Widow movie is in the works,too.Marvel has a list of the ones they plan to make.

Yeah, that would be really good as well. And a Nick Fury film is obviously in the works.

I'd go with Hawkeye / Black Widow team, with Coulson being their Shield liaison.

I disagree. movie with Hawkeye fighting against Trickshot and/or Swordsmaster can work, if the script is good. Especially if Trickshot is his brother. There is enough drama in those pairings and with the SHIELD Agent angle you could give his origin story a whole new spin.

Natasha could work in a solo movie if they go the female espionage route and leave the SH genre a little bit. If La Femme Nikita can work, so can Black Widow.

Well so far; Marvel Studios have made films with unique themes attached to the characters that they’ve adapted onto films:

• Captain America (War Piece/History)
• Thor (Fantasy)
• Hulk (Science)
• Iron Man (Technology)

With SHIELD movies, they could dive into the “Spy/Cover World” of the MCU in a Jason Bourne/Quantam of Solace in a way.

The one thing that I always had to suspend disbelief for with Hawkeye was the finite amount of arrows he could carry. I mean, his quiver only looks like it could carry 20 - 30 arrows, which is kinda lame. Add to that the fact that he needs a variety of trick arrows to at least be ready for any situations. That rather limits his usefulness. I can suspend my disbelief for that in a comic but it may be harder to do in a movie. I can see the continuity of how many arrows he has left after he's used a few being a potential problem, at least for people who noticed and are easily bothered by that sort of thing.

True, I also don't think I can suspend my disabeleif that Hawkeye and Black Widow can survive a one on one battle with Loki without ATLEAST being hospitalized.

Got a bullet that can do anything except fly real fast, real straight, and slam into the target with either stopping power or penetrating power? Can you load single bullets into a gun at a rate of 30 per minute?

Nah, we should probably just have the Punisher on the team with a dozen guns strapped to his back, letting bullets spray like a madman. But hey, it puts the bad guy down right?

Or more specifically, to anybody whose superpowers don't include massive damage from long range.

I was being facetious, of course, but the point is that the whole superhero philosophy of "beat up the bad guys and leave them for the cops to incarcerate" is absolutely ludicrous when you start applying real-world logic. If the above poster wanted to complain about trick-shooters like Hawkeye and Green Arrow because he doesn't think they're "realistic," then I would suggest he expand his complaint to include pretty much the entire genre, and every character in it.

I understand you're defending a character you like, but there is more bile in your post than logic. Hawkeye will still most likely be killing enemies with his bow and arrow and as a SHIELD Agent there is no logical reason why he couldn't use a gun. It's his personality that lends him to using it and his skill at archery, but seriously, considering the scope and sci-fi fantasy elements of the Marvel Universe, do you honestly think there couldn't be a gun that is in some way superior to a bow and arrow?

Who sai they were fighting a one on one battle with Loki? And who said they DON'T sustain injuries? From all the footage we've seen, even Cap get's pretty screwed up.
