Jesse "The Body" Ventura is considering a run for president. While I admit, I likely will not vote for him, his campaign should be a lot of fun to watch. Especially if he can garner enough support to get into the debates (ala Perot). If nothing else he is very blunt and very charasmatic. It should be a lot of fun to watch his campaign.

"Mr. Body, what is your stance on performance enhancing drugs such as HGH in sports?"

This could be a publicity ploy for his move back into acting.

I was listening to Jesse Ventura during a radio interview the other day, and this was one of his points. He was talking about the idea of putting a "None of the above" option on the presidential ballot. By using this option, you would be participating in the democratic process, yet voicing a different opinion. A vote of "No Confidence" in any cadidate on the ticket. What are your thoughts on this idea?

I could see severe problems on that one...

What if none of the above won? Would they just go with the 2nd runner up?

Well, if None of the Above won, I think we'd have to rethink our political system. I honestly feel we should have more than two options when choosing a president.

We do have more than two options. The problem is that there's absolutely no hope at all for all the others.

I would have thought a Committee to Elect No One would have started up by now. Back in '04, there was one already in place

What if people started to change their legal names to "None of the Above", we'd be a hurt'n a plenty.

I've been saying this for quite some time.

Most people who would be willing to vote "no confidence" have already given up, or lost interest in the process anyway. They don't even show up to the polls. This idea is a waste of time. Instead, try to find a way to motivate people who don't vote to get involved in some other way that will actually change something.

Well, some of them are changing their names to "Pro Life," so "None of the Above" may not be that far behind...

Or they've taken off the rose-tinted glasses (i.e. cut through the ********) and know going in that whomever is running for office will just find a new method to screw the country.

I think that if two politcians had just spent millions of dollars running for president, only for neither one to be elected, something would have to change.

Yes, wouldn't that be funny? But how likely is that to ever happen?

Fine, I have no problem with that. Fact remains: the main group of people you'd need for this idea to work wouldn't even participate.

Well, looking at our options right now, I want the option SO bad. :csad:

Bad idea...everyone knows that votes of "No Confidence" only end up getting this guy elected to office:

None of the Above is not an option though
look at our election this year...Bush HAS to leave office.

What happens if None of the Above won

We actually would either be without a president, or a minority candidate might take it as second place.
