I'd like to see Finn step up and become a kind of poster boy for the Resistance. He's the first Stormtrooper we've ever seen in the movies break ranks and join the good guys, and his involvement was indispensable in taking down Starkiller and finding Luke. And that was just one trooper. So I wonder if Finn would be willing to let the Resistance use his face and his story in the hopes of getting more troopers to flip to their side.

Speaking of which, I wonder if Ep VIII and IX will get into what exactly caused Finn to turn. Of all the troopers in all the films up to this point, why him? Why now?

Well if you go by the Finn is force sensitive theory, it's because the force awakened in him. There's some nicely done theories on it. Not my theory.

Who else hopes that after training Rey, Luke decides to start training Finn and Poe as Jedi? The Last Jedi is pretty ominous and it'd be pretty remarkable if in the final fight with Snoke if Luke is joined by Rey, Finn and Poe as his Jedi Order.

"Finn's a big deal. Hes a big deal in the resistance now. I mean, you've got to think about it, between [episodes] VII and VIII, people have now heard about all the amazing things that he has done. And now he's, like, waving and saying hi to all the resistance ladies around," Boyega shared.

"It is that kind of transition," he joked, when asked if Finn's experience mimics his real life. "It's crazy! It's a fun time."

Finn's popularity will also been seen through the eyes of a new character, Rose, played by Kelly Marie Tran.

"Kelly's character is an absolute fan of Finn. She's so interested. It takes an interesting turn though as they get closer," Boyega teased. "The dynamic between them is very interesting. Finn sees a lot of himself in her, and she's still trying to figure out her place. She's not a soldier. She's not a pilot. She's trying to figure out what can she impart that's important to the good fight. And so they both have to figure that out together."

Finn with him becoming a Resistance fighter switching sides I mean it would make sense given everything and him becoming a Resistance pilot flying a Resistance ship it will definitely be something to see

While the Force Awakens leaves off with Finn injured – and even the new Last Jedi trailer shows him in a chamber, apparently still healing from his wounds – Boyega promised us that he’ll be back and very physical in the film.

“Yeah very physical, very physical,” he said. He’s on a new mission, there’s a new goal now. The Resistance is under immense pressure. The First Order is back and badder than ever, and it requires Finn to make a choice as to what side he’s on.”

So just how badass is Finn in this movie? “Finn has some combat in this one, and it’s going to be really interesting and people are going to love it,” Boyega teased.

Finally, we couldn’t let him go without asking for his personal favorite moment from the trailer? “Rey’s hands on the floor, with the stones vibrating up. It shows that her powers have grown.”

But that's what it was, an excuse. It seemed obvious to me that Finn starts the movie as a coward, and his betrayal of the First Order is down to the fact that he doesn't want to fight, he just wants to run away.

It's only after he meets Rey and begins to care about her that he finds the courage to fight.

That's probably it. Finn got out of the First Order to get away from the fight. Now he's found himself in the middle of it.

I probably wouldn't worry about it. Rey's story is more pressing so obviously it got highlighted first.

It would be nice to see him struggle with this decision instead of "I'm choosing the Resistance, just because".

I imagine they still want to tease "will Finn pull through from his injuries" so that's why we didn't see a lot of him. I think he'll still get plenty to do.

I hope "choosing a side" isn't a big part of it though. He already chose.

Boygea said Finn really is a big deal in the Resistance now since word got out about what he did at the starkiller base. The Last Jedi will have Finn dealing with that.

He went from a grunt Stormtrooper who was on sanitation duty to a famous hero of the Resistance.
