The Force Awakens John Boyega as Finn

Finn will be FS stuff is a lofty hope imo
It could work but if fans push enough disney might just tack it on because its a popular theory

I believe in the novelization there will be some hints towards attraction between Rey and Poe.

I think Rey sees Finn as a brother figure more than a romantic interest.

I don't know how much they'll get into Finn's backstory, I suppose they could.

Honestly, I could see Finn and Poe in the Han role, but Finn just seems like someone who will be in the saga providing what Han provided: some comedy, some "save the day" moments that surprise us. Poe seems to be one who will be in the Leia in the OT role of Resistance leader, planner, going on missions, etc.
Is the novelization out? You make it sound like it isn't. If its not, then that is just speculation on your part which is nothing to go on.

I'm not disagreeing with that idea, just that you suggest Poe and Rey will have a romantic development, which is just so out of left field especially when Poe was originally suppose to die. Heck, that revelation gives him more parallels to Han Solo, who was intended to die in Empire. Again, your points are more like unsubstantiated speculation, rather than actual deduction.

Lastly, of course they will delve more into Finn's backstory. They wouldn't have bothered setting up a section of the beginning to his defection and desire to do good without atleast giving him some development later on. He is clearly the deuteragonist of this new trilogy, and will have most of the character development next to Rey and possibly Kylo Ren aka [BLACKOUT]Ben Solo[/BLACKOUT]..

^ The novelization has been out digitally since the December 18th. The physical book will be released in two days.

Would love Finn to still be able to use a lightsaber in the sequel. Even if he isn't force sensitive would be nice to see him get training to use one and have a re-match with Kylo at some point.

This podcast did a review of SW:TFA, and pointed out something that might have been a hint that Finn was (at the very least) Force sensitive. They pointed out that the Force theme music was played when Finn had the blood of that dead Stormtrooper wiped on his helmet. They also share my opinion/desire to see a non Jedi/non Sith user of the Force. Give this podcast a listen. FYI, due to strong language, this podcast is NSFW.

General Leia Organa.

If the Jedi order is to be rebuilt then it makes since for him to be force sensitive. I could too be graspingbat straws but the way Ren looked at him in the beginning as if he sensed something and Maz looking deeply into him as if she saw something. I think it would be cool for him to be a Jedi but I like the idea of him being neither yet have the force

General Leia Organa.

Yes, but she doesn't use the Force in combat, which is what I and the 2 Brandons were asking to see. In other words, we want to see people who have Force enhanced skills and physical abilities without being either a Jedi or a Sith, or having to pick a side. These Force sensitive beings would unconsciously tap into the Force to give them an edge over non Force users, but they won't be no where near as powerful as the Jedi or the Sith. That's what I would like to see Finn and Poe end up being.

I think you have it backwards. Finn has to have an explained backstory, given the mystery of where he came from. Plus, I'd hardly call him "badass". If anything Poe fits that bill even more.

Personally, I don't think there will be any romantic relations in this series, but there's a faaarrrr better chance of Rey and Finn hooking up than Poe or Rey who don't even share a line of dialogue with eachother at any point in the film. Heck,, Finn/Poe seems more believable as well.

As for Finn being force sensitive, I don't see him becoming a jedi, but I think there is a chance of him obtaining some degree of force sensitivity similar to Leia.

Not to mention, they already have shippers online and with the audience, it will be too out of left field for someone else to come along and win Rey's heart. And, this is J.J. Abrahms, who hooked up Spock with Uhura in Star Trek.

Everyone doesn't have to be Force sensitive.

Oh I agree, I would prefer him not to be, but still be able to use a lightsaber. It would be interesting for a none force user to be able to wield one quite well. Just not Jedi level of course.

If it does, that opens up more about the ability to wield a lightsaber in combat. I don't think they're these exclusive weapons that only force users can wield skillfully (though it certainly helps) as that's never been outright explained in the films so there's a lot of room to add on. I subscribe more that they're heavy like Excalibur and not easy to wield, but the lightsaber does not make the Jedi or the human being. It's just a tool, which fits into Yoda's philosophy and being from ESB.

I want he and Poe to have brown sugar babies. :o

Are the OT Storm troopers clones?

These were the actors that almost got the part of Finn.

I really can't imagine Jesse Plemons as Finn.

Whoa wait Meth Damon was in the running for Finn? I had heard his name come up but I just assumed he was auditioning for Kylo.

I thought Plemmons seemed more like a fit for Poe in terms of type. Or I think General Hux even.
