John Turturro IS Carmine Falcone.

He was like some creepy nightmare version of his character from O Brother Where Art Thou.

Curious if we’ll see any Falcone relatives in this. Nolan didn’t really go for that, but if there’s Long Halloween influence here...

If they are then I'd love to see them get Bobby Cannavale.

I could see Cannavale as Maroni. I don’t think I’d really buy him being the son of John Turturro. Just doesn’t seem like enough of an age gap.

This is interesting. I don’t think I’d seen that he made any comments about the movie so far...

Always nice when they’re complimentary of the source material rather than dismissive.

Plus he's not really wimpy enough to be Alberto

Turturro for some reason is the one name in the cast that I keep forgetting about. And when I remember he’s in this movie as Falcone, it excites me more than the rest of the cast. Tom Wilkinson always bugged me in that role. Never felt like he looked the part and was underused. Very surface level. Not one mention of his family, so he could have been called any name as far as I’m concerned.

To be fair seeing how we've gotten absolutely zero news on anyone else from the Falcone family I wouldn't be surprised if this movie omits them too.

It’s possible but with Selina there, I doubt they will ignore it. Even if this version doesn’t have Alberto/Mario/Sofia at least they can establish Selina as his daughter. In The Batman or a Catwoman spin-off.

i am really looking forward to watch turturro as falcone.
hopefully he plays a more prominent role here compared to batman begins version (though i enjoyed wilkonson's role in that).
i hope turturro's version is a bigger, nuanced, and complex.
he's a great actor.

I appreciated the way Nolan completely divorced Falcone from any sort of Godfather shtick. He for sure could have been any mobster character but there’s something to be said for the more thuggish portrayal.

The scene he had with Bruce was good, but beyond that? Eh. That was a wussy Carmine in those Crane scenes.

yea, that more brute, thuggish falcone fit the world that nolan was building.

now i wanna see something different in reeves' movie.

i’m glad Nolan didn’t rip off the Vito Corleone thing. But Wilkinson’s Carmine Falcone didn’t have the look or delivery of an Italian mob boss. Turturro is a easier sell obviously.

Maroni has better writing in TDK. Falcone was tossed to the side like nothing.

Maroni is such a great piece of ****. Eric Roberts is a Golem composed entirely of sleaze and I cannot be convinced otherwise.

lol eric roberts is very good at playing sleazy bad guys for some reason.

when the dark knight was filming and they announced that eric roberts was cast as sal maroni, i actually read it as "sal maroni cast as eric roberts"
