That's fine, and I don't disagree with that. John Wick literally goes through everyone and I am pretty sure Morocco isn't in the Middle East, but I might be wrong about that. The entire first film he was murdering the whitest dudes on earth, and that was with intent. Context matters, and John Wick is an equal opportunity killer of anyone who tries to kill him.

As someone who isn't Middle Eastern, I have not gone through what he has gone through. I also can't see it through the lens he sees it. I can easily see where his views is coming from though. I can easily disagree with it, but not say that he is being easily offended.

Eh, it would be like me complaining of John killing a bunch of black dudes, while ignoring all them russians, asians, random white guys, that he has killed. And calling him another ''american hero'' is a wrong way of viewing said character. I will say he is easily offended, I haven no problem saying it. Also, if you go through his feed, he clearly states to blocking ppl who bring up all the other ppl John kills, so one can't even have a good back and forth with the dude.

I still love the movie, but I am not going to be upset that someone with different life experiences sees something I don't.

I'm far from upset. I'm legit trying to remember any other scene or sequence in these flicks where that is an issue. First 2 flicks he is demolishing the russians/italians. Eh, he also kinda throws a dig at the ''serious film'' crowd for liking this film tho, so he also hates that most enjoyed this movie. Of all the flicks the deserved criticism for exactly what he points outs, and he goes after this one is kinda bizarre to me, but then again I don't see what he sees, to each their own.

Call it white pivledge or whatever but I get tired of these kind of things, John Wick isn't a hero for starters and I don't believe his nationlity is ever stated, on top of that he kills multiple people of multiple races including a number of Asian people in the 3rd film. This dude isn't offended IMO, he's looking to get reactions and he got them, if he really believed in what he's saying he'd debate people instead of blocking them, basically he just comes off as ignorant.

John Wick kills a bunch of bad guys, their race isn't relevant as race doesn't make someone good or evil, what's inside them does that, this surface level offended by everything BS dilutes the real issues and distracts from genuine problems with racism in entertainment, like purely from the Muslim perspective, there aren't enough heroic or even just lead Muslim characters in TV and movies, certainly not ones that aren't about terrorism, now that's an issue IMO, not this crap.

I don't really disagree with anything here SB. My issue would be that this guy seems to be ignoring the film and series as a whole to try and make a point, that no matter his life experience, doesn't stick imo. Especially as he seems determined to simply demean the film's existence, while seemingly not knowing a thing about it.

John Wick if anything, is rather inclusive, as odd as that may sound. There is a lot of representation in the films, and John doesn't discriminate, and really outside of the actual baddies, neither do his opponents. He only ever made it his goal to kill those that wronged him. Everyone else is a part of the game of the high table.

If he wanted to criticize, I get that. But how he writes doesn't suggest that at all imo, and it is clear he did not do his homework before posting something that makes no sense in context.

Considering his tattoos, his connection to the Russians and his birth name is Jardani, we basically know where he is from. A name I can't stop saying by the way.

Sometimes, images provoke an emotional response, despite context. I have emotional responses to neck snaps, even though a lot of what I see in media is very different from the context of my emotional trigger.

Which is fair. We can't stop what triggers us. But does that make the content of John Wick 3 an issue? No imo. Something can trigger you, and it not be an issue at all. And that is the issue with the original tweet, because this person is painting the film as problematic in a very arrogant fashion, as a opposed to it simply having content that triggers him.
